You can correct he Kubota compact line, Zetor has only been in the compact tractor market for bit over 5 years, their compact tractors are made by TYM, use Yanmar motors. Only the Major 80 and bigger are made by Zetor.The New Holland compact tractor are made by LS,

That was the first thing I noticed, I wonder if there are any other inaccuracies on that list?

If it was from an AI, I've seen some really hit or miss responses about tractors.

My MT2-25s hydro. has 400 hrs. Battery is right up front of the engine compartment....will be a piece of cake to replace it when the time comes. I can't think of anything I don't like about that tractor. I replaced a near new other brand that was manual shift and didn't have the operator's station consideration for a large owner plus things like a tilt wheel.

The dealer was 250 miles away and took 2 tractors in trade...the small one I mentioned and a nice Ford 2000 D....with free shipping.

The battery in my LS appears to be very easy to change but I’ve never needed to change it so if I ever do have to change it I might find out it’s not as easy as it looks. Battery is mounted under the front of the hood, sometimes the hood latch gets snow and ice buildup but lubing it occasionally with wd40 seems to still make it fairly easy to get hood open.

Open the hood and sift thru the secondary steel framing to even get a good look at the battery. How do you apply a tender, or charger? A 1/2 hour usually simple job turned into a full day job (off/on/off/on). Bring a strong flashlight as the pit is dark. This is simply lousy engineering. Also had a CAN-AM side by side that was more than similar, and my body was unable to flex enough to access the battery. I learned over several years to check out the locations of critical parts prior. BTW my LS also works well. I wanted to just swap out the battery to be proactive before winter comes. 6 years on a battery up north makes me nervous.

I also had a tractor with the battery hidden like yours, but most are not. But I do feel the same as you do about access to to service parts. It beats me why something like a hydraulic filter needs to be hidden away or underneath the tractor. Why should we crawl underneath to remove filters and then dodge fluids? is this simply design tradition or humor?

Luckily with a bit of work both batteries and filters can be relocated. Hot rods, commercial machines, and race cars often relocate those parts to be more accessible. Maybe the LS could carry the battery somewhere else.

I got so fed up with my 6 year old LS to replace a what should be a simple battery, along with being fed up with the LS dealer, I decided to put my LS XJ 2025H on the market and buy a gently used Branson 2515H with a bigger bucket, better forks, 6' box blade, and 6' rear mower. The tractor has 68 hours and 4 years old. It looks showroom new and sounds great. The LS has a custom foot hold, receiver hitch welded to the bucket, extra hydraulics in the back with a detent valve & turf tires. The 2515H joins my 4215HC - very similar straight forward engineering. It is being delivered from nearly 90 miles away. Will be a full load.

So, maybe i missed it, but if you have a 4215, what is the niche for the 2515? Physical same size, just lower HP, and i can't think of any time I would want lower power in the same frame?

2 tractors for 2 different locations. The bigger tractor is at camp out in the middle of no where. The little tractor is for home and replaces a smaller framed LS XJ2025H.

Ok, that makes more sense.

When I bought my Kioti Ck2610, I did also look side by side at the 2515, as the dealer sells both. The 2515 was a close choice, but I liked the loader joystick, and seat better on Kioti, as well as the Kioti was $1500 less. Being that you already have the 42hp version, it should feel like home on the 2515

Why in the world they decided to put the battery in a hole and the post towards the back!

I turned my battery around, easier to get to the post but still a nightmare to lift the battery in or out.

I also just bought another tractor little bit over two years ago I traded in my Kubota grand L which was a great tractor but with my age and task I was doing I felt it was a little large. I downgraded to a BX 2680 which is really a great little tractor and I found it has only one shortfall and that’s its limiting lifting capacity so I just opted for an LX 2620 open cab open cockpit and while it’s still a 25 hp tractor it’s hydraulic system pushes over 3 gallons a minute more hydraulic fluid and therefore significantly more lifting power and still not an overly large tractor to move around my property. Bottom line decide what you want to do with the tractor and then add a little bit more capability than what you think you need and you won’t keep making the same mistake I’ve done
