I don't care one iota about angling my BB...but the design of the hydro rippers is pure genius...please post a few more detailed pics...the ends for instance...

It finally stopped raining long enough to hook the bb up and get the video. I love this thing and it works great at digging and transporting dirt/ gravel where ya need it

An 8' landscape rake does the same thing, no modifications, pull 1 pin and rotate the angle out to 45 degrees. Most users don't get the notion that you need to put a few hundred pounds of weight on the rake to make it dig, but that's really all you need for gravel driveway or roadway maintenance. At the high angle the tooth spacing as seen by the stone is about zero, so it combs the material towards the center. It also smooths out any ruts or roller coaster mounds. Yes, you need gauge wheel behind the rake to maintain the gravel spread with a chain for a top link to get the smooth, level and combed results.

I have an #1800 kubota B7510 21hp tractor so if I added a couple hundred pounds to the rake I would struggle to lift it. 1. An 8' landscape rake is too big although I do have a 6' rake but there is no way in hades it would did like a box blade. 2. rakes are made for leveling not digging 3. my land is hard clay in the dead of summer and my drive is gravel. I plan on using the BB to dig the ridges off the edge of the driveway and redistribute the gravel to the center of the driveway and try to eliminate the pot holes. I didn't want to have to switch back and forth between implements thus the need for the BB to angle even if it is just a little bit. 4. How do you tip the rake back far enough to dig with A. a chain for top link and B, gauge wheels on back? Oh and I don't have to pull the pin to angle the rake and I modified it to angle with a cylinder.

Great modification!!!! Well built. Pulls on the cylinder rather than compress. It's as solid as the cylinder gland seals.

Did you do this mod? Can't remember if that was already answered.

I built the whole box blade and yes the rotating rippers as well. Even the rippers were burned from 5/8 plate steel and had 1/4 ar plate welded do the tips.

I'm amazed that the pivot points are just 1/2" bolts, but I think we underestimate how much they hold. Nice upgrade.

I think we need to keep in mind the tractor he's using.

Nice build!

Added a hitch receiver when strengthening the 3pt hitch. Haven’t used it to pull a trailer yet. Might have to put a hitch on the land plane because it’s the implement of choice.

Yup just 1/2" bolts and haven't sheard one yet. I built this probably 25 years ago. One of the problems I had was the rippers ripped through the back of the 4"x4"1/4" square tube the first few time I used it.If ya look in the video you can see the 1/4" repair straps I welded on to prevent any more damage. Another time the front cylinder mount broke and I had to beef that up as well. The whole thing is too light as I used 3/16 steel because that's what I had access to at the time. I wish it was 1/4"

Ken, I can't think of a single thing I've built that didn't require tweeking to perfect it. :D
