I painted the box scraper. I still need to add the scarcifiers. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting these. I have an old cultivator that I could take the blades off of. Would this work?

Why not use the ripper shanks that are made for box blades. Most any tractor place will have them, or go to TSC. You would have to fabricate something to set them in. On my box blade, the shanks are stored in the slots that are used for digging. A 5/8 pin slides through the shank to store or dig. The shanks cost between $15 and $22.

A guess cost is the main reason. If I can use what I have that's better.
I did a search on TSC and did not find ripper shanks or scarifiers.

We do have some tractor places close by, and I can look there. Do you see anything wrong with the little cultivator blades? The look pretty tough. The shaft is about 3/4 diameter or larger.

Beechwood, thanks. I looked at the site and they look pretty good. I still hoping to get some comments on my cultivator parts. May father-in-law kept this thing for 40 or 50 years and I hope to get some use out of it. I think he would have liked that. I may try it anyway and see how it works. It will be bolted in and can be changed if needed.

I took a few closeups of the cultivator blades today. I think that I can use the blades and the main bar as part of the box scraper.

I have added three of the cultivator blades to the box scraper. It looks to me that it could use two more. What do you think? See attached pictures.

Bob Rip,
I don't know about the blades, but I was wondering how it does in leveling?
I had some small size stone delivered for my driveway, and leveled it with the back side of the bucket. I kept it in float. But it took quite a while to get it fairly level.

I don't know. My driveway is already in pretty good shape. It does take a while to level with this setup, or so I am told. I have used the backside of the bucket in the past. One thing I really like about it is pulling gravel back on the driveway that has been thrown off. The side plates make this very efficient.

I have used the box blade to level many areas of my yard and it does a great job. This is an attachment that takes some getting used to but when you master the leveling using the auto float it will do the job you need.
