I posted a similar thread a while back, so forgive me for repeating myself, but I am still in the market for a box trailer. I am not overly familiar with what is out there and know there are likely many opinions as to the top brands available. What I am looking for is a very high quality tandem or triple axle trailer (likely tandem in the size I want) trailer big enough to haul a car or compact tractor and some gear and is no longer than 22 feet (I really want a 20 footer). Any specific new suggestions on the brand and features in this type of trailer for which I should be looking would be most welcome.

The best advice I can offer is to do a lot of shopping. The quality and pricing varies quite a bit. I haul antique motorcycles in a Carmate trailer and am quite satisfied with it. The most important items on any trailer is the tires and brakes. I have blown tires that were always kept properly inflated and had great tread depth. Now I buy the heaviest rating I can find and pay close attention to inflation. Some trailers have electric brakes on only one axle, that is not enough, especially when hauling something as heavy as a car. The best trailer prices I have found are at Romney (WV) Cycles, Romney, West Virginia, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Motorcycle, Scooter, ATV, Utility Vehicle, Dealer, Used, Parts, Service, Financing, Accessories. of course, you being in NC, that would be a long ride but you can check prices with them, if you call, ask for Kevin, (the owner), they are good people. Good luck.

No specific recommendations on brands nor pricing, but when you compare different models, keep it apples-to-apples as much as possible.

If hauling vehicles and such is your intended purpose, don't even look at anything without suitable tie-down points and ventilation. There are a whole lot of enclosed trailers that are meant for furniture moving duty. We have several in the rental fleet, and every August, (think Sturgis time), we get some back all stunk up with spilled fuel and stuff. People renting them will rig up their own wheel chocks and tie points inside to haul their bikes and trikes to South Dakota....and think they've converted a furniture moving trailer into a suitable vehicle hauler.

Shop for a good-quality dedicated vehicle/equipment hauler. Not one the manufacturer will "convert" by attaching a few d-rings to the plywood floor.
