Boxblade

   / Boxblade #11
I bought the Kubota box-blade last summer with my new BX because I wanted everything to be new and orange. I now wish that I had chosen something else. The kubota box-blade has the swinging rear blade, and with no position control, and not being able to tilt it up on the rear blade, I can't smooth out anything. I was just talking to a welder last week about welding up the rear blade. There goes the new orange paint!

Peppers,

Have you considered drilling each side and inserting a bolt to hold the swinging rear blade stationary?

When I was talking to a manufacturer about his box blade not locking, he said that some owners do that...

Just a thougt...drilling would not burn the paint off.../w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

You might try going in reverse--it works fine that way. The paint is going to go away anyway so if you want it welded go and do it. I almost did that to mine but now I like the swing back. J

Buying a high quality name brand can mean extra $$. A boxblade is a pretty basic tool. The best boxblade (most expensive) probably won't do much more for you than a comparable duty midpriced model.

The difference in quality will be more evident in more complex implements, and perhaps worth the extra money.
