1*Isn't the
BX1860 a 3 cylinder and the
BX1500 a 2 cylinder engine?
1*It was until 2006.
At that time there were 3 models of the BX but only 2 different sizes.
In 2006 Kubota decided there was no need to continue building 3 models of the BX when there was only 2 sizes of them .
Prior to 2006 the BX 1800 series and the BX 22 were the same size and had the same size wheels but the
BX22 had more Hp.
The BX 1500 was smaller and had smaller front and rear wheels. than the BX 1800 series and the BX 22.
2*Speculating that the
BX1500 is no longer sold in US, maybe somewhere else.
3*I believe/sort of remember Kubota was selling a
BX1500,
BX1800 and a
BX2200 about 9 years .
4*At that time I believe (almost positive) there was also a
BX1800 (my neighbor bought one) and still a
BX2200 available.
5*I believe the
BX1800 and
BX2200 were slightly bigger than the
BX1500. (
BX23 era)
6*Anyway, Since the
BX1500 was dropped and the
BX1800 retained and I still believe the
BX1500 was slightly smaller than the
BX1800.
7*I believe the current machine in that series is the updated, each year newly badged old
BX1800 and not the old
BX1500.
8*This is my theory and speculation, not Kubota factory fact. Not claiming it to be. Just one mans opinion, mine.
2*It's now sold as a
BX1860 With a 3 Cyl Diesel.
It is smaller and has the smaller wheels just like the previous BX 1500 did.
Unlike the previous 1800 models it's smaller and has smaller wheels that they do .
3*That all changed in 2006 when Kubota went from 3 models of BXs to 2 Models .
4*You are correct up to 2005 there were 3 BX models .
If anyone has noticed there have been only 2 models avaible since 2006 .
5*Correct again . BTW the
BX1800 and
BX2200 were the same size but 2 different HP.
6*Again this was true through 2005,but the size of the BX 1800 was reduced in 2006 and it has smaller wheels than the the prior BX1800s.
7*It don't matter what you call it the
BX1800 or
BX1500
The 2006 and after
BX1800 more closley compares to the
BX1500 than it does to the BX 1800 of yesteryear.
8*This is my conclusion based on my enperence and research .
Looked at 2007 whole goods price lists which has the crossover years.
9*Difference in HP between all 3 of the BX series.
2200 has more HP than 1800
and 1800 more than 1500.
10*The 1800 is not a re badged 1500.
9* Right on but was no longer true after 2006.
From 2006 there has only been 2 models of BXs
10* It's sure not the former BX 1800 series .
I made a complete and thorough study /comparison of the BXs back in 2007 before purchasing these BX 1500 tractors .
