Tractor
Branson 3620h
Hello and thanks for the add. I’m very new to the compact tractor scene. 7 years ago I bought some property in the country in need of much help.I’ve done all my ground work by hand to this point, and I’m tired.
So, last month I did some research and ordered a new Branson 3620h. My neighbor is a Kubota guy and said I should cancel and get a Kubota L 3901 instead. Price is a serious point with me. So did I make the right choice?
Branson just seemed like a better tractor for the money

If it was me.... stick with the Branson. I am going to get a bunch of crap for sayin' this, but.... Kubota's are good tractors, but way overpriced for what you get... or don't get for your money. Just my opinion.

I would buy a Branson, or LS, or Kioti before buying a JD or Kubota. I am definitely prejudiced against both.... long story....

No mistake on your part at all!
At this point in time the Branson would be my choice over the kubota Based on my experiance and what I have seen when looking at them I would choose the Branson over the Kubota and the decision would not be based on price!

It depends on your intentions. Do you anticipate trading or selling sometime, or keeping it forever? The Kubota may cost more new but will bring a higher percentage in resale value.

I’d stay with the Branson if you’ve already placed your order. I prefer Kubota but, Branson is a good tractor and it’ll serve you well.

Here we go again! This is still the biggest misconception going!
You will not make more on a percentage basis and never really have.
When ever I do the math based on cost from new it seems the percentage works out even.

They are both good tractors. I wouldn't say they are exactly equal, but they don't cost the same either. If cost is an issue, the Branson certainly has the upper hand. If cost isn't an issue, buy the Kubota. You can do anything with the Branson that you can with a Kubota. I don't think reliability is a problem with either brand. Status might be a concern if you are into that kind of thing. Sort of like owning a Chevy compared to a Cadillac. They will both likely get you there trouble free.

The 3901 is not even in the same class of tractors with the 20 series Branson. The Branson is a heavier and more capable unit. To be in the ballpark of size and capability, you are probably talking Kubota Grand L or MX/M series.

There are a lot of factors, but when I place my order, it will be on the best value for the closest equivalent machines. Resale is a highly overrated concern. It assumes facts not in evidence as you cannot predict if the market will be as it is today or different in the x number of years before you hypothetically sell.

I did not initially even consider Branson, but now the top two on my list are Branson and TYM. I will give them all a chance to make me the best offer. Don't look back and enjoy your purchase!

Dealer support (parts, service, warrenty work) should be part of the conversation also.If you have a well established branson dealer I would not be afraid to purchase the tractor.

You made a great decision. After you get your Branson, I bet your neighbor will be impressed. Branson may be his next tractor.🤣

I looked at Branson tractors earlier this year and thought it would fit my needs. I was looking at the 5520H. I have a dealer who was only 10 miles from me which is nice to have. He didn't have any in stock but did have tractors on order. Move ahead 8 months to now and I ended up buying a LS. The dealer I referred to has not received 1 Branson tractor this year. I also looked at another Branson dealer about 60 miles away but they only got a few tractors this year and since Sept were saying no cab tractors until next year due to a "glass shortage". Branson may be supplying tractors somewhere but not in my area. All that being said, I probably would have bought a Branson if the dealers had what I wanted at the time (I won't order something unless I have seen it in person) but both dealers have looked at other franchises to sell due to this issue. l don't regret buying the LS since it was at the same or lower price point than the Branson with more standard features. I also looked at the Kubota MX series and can't say anything bad about Kubota except for the price. They by far have the best dealer network in my area. If you can get the Branson in a reasonable time and the dealer is in it for the long haul I think you will be satisfied with your purchase.

Honestly, I try to do enough research to spend money once. I plan on keeping it for a long time. It’s doubtful that I’ll outgrow it and besides, my neighbor has a good sized Kubota! Lol

Between a Branson 3620 and a Kubota L01 I'd pick the Branson hands down. In fact I did. Except for the fuel injection the L01s are rather primitive. The weight and loader capacity difference is significant.

The fundamental importance of DEALERSHIP ACCESS eludes many new tractor shoppers.

Tractor satisfaction is more closely correlated to a friendly and competent local DEALERSHIP than to any other specification.r.

The dealership figures even larger when looking at a Branson 6 year/1000 hr "bumper to bumper" warranty. That's a long warranty for a tractor.

If your dealer is near by and established the Branson seems like a decent choice. Be sure to read through the Branson forum here on TBN.

How far away is your local Branson dealer? If necessary, who pays for hauling the tractor? Are tractors his main business? Did you check out his service dept? Does he have a mobile service truck & mechanic?

Thank you all for your opinion’s and advice, I really appreciate it. As for the dealer, been in the tractor business for quite some time and is 12 miles from my home. Seems to be a strong dealership. I hope I have enough patience for the wait! Lol.

Will definitely post some pics. It might be a little while tho. The dealership said it could be after the first of the year before it hits our shores!😖
