.....and proudly hung the Texas flag. Nothing was going to stop me today!

First, I built a bridge in front of the bridge to stand on while I hang the rock.

I hung the rock on the front side leaving the wings for possible rail modification. We will definitely be able to complete the front next week! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For the non-members, this is the memory stone for the bridge itself.

Memory stone you ask?

I promised to make everyone who attended the September get together a memory stone to commemorate our party hardy thingy do bridge making.

Week 11- DECEMBER 4TH 2004

THE NORTE TEXAS FINALE BRIDGE PARTY/DEDICATION/GET TOGETHER!

THE BRIDGE WAS DEDICATED TO ALL THE GREAT FRIENDS WE HAVE MET HERE ON TBN.

The big day started with a 70% chance of rain, BUT with Harvey's Luck in our favor there was no rain and it was a gorgeous day with temperature 55 to 65F.

The day began when Jim and Mike arrived and unloaded a "real" ATV that Jim brought with him (thanks Kathy).

Harvey, Glenda and Lucy came rolling in a few minutes later. There might be rumors around that Harvey got stuck, but this picture clearly shows it was Lucy not Harvey, who got stuck, - and I mean really stuck.

Our initial effort prove underpowered and futile.

Time to get the big Kubota L5030.

We tried lifting and pulling with the backhoe, we tried with the FEL, The FEL went up and tractor sunk to the Axel in the mud.

Everyone is relieved and happy and stand around in awe at the spot that Lucy nearly became a permanent fixture.

Now it may seem we are just looking at a stuck truck all day, not so, we are here to have a good time and finish the bridge (the bulldozer was just extra entertainment). Everyone jumps in and rocks are drilled and glued and put on pegs.

Harvey brought the memory stones for everyone and one especially for the bridge.

There were several suggestion of where to put it, but Eddie Walker came up with the winning idea.
