Finally got the bridge started.

Forgot the actual term for it, but it looks like the creek bank sometimes overflows in the area where the beams land up to the area of the dashed red line and the trail finally climbs up past this area where the solid red line is shown.

My concern would be debris collecting. I would want the bridge higher off the creek bed.

Agree. I would get 2 more short pieces of beam to span across all the bags of concrete, then sit the span beams on top of those end beams. Your end supports will be better and your bridge will be sitting higher.

The water has never, ever come close to that line you drew. It’s never reached the arena where the concrete bags are set. The bridge bottom is 4’ above the level of the creek. It’s only ever come up another foot during heavy rain during the wet season.

I picked up some crusher run with my dump truck today and decided to prepare the entrance to the bridge. I put 2x8’s across the end of the beams to hold back the gravel. I just roughed it in for now and will fine tune it when I get it all put together.
I couldn’t resist putting a few boards on to see what it will look like.

Nice work. you got those deck boards finished nicely. the only concern I have is used oil and diesel may be slippery when wet especially with foot traffic but too late now.

It did give the boards a nice stained look.

Thanks for all the comments. Gonna be a week or so before I can get to the railings. The wood has been stickered for a week or so. I hope to get it finished next time I am at the property.
