I've tried many of those sites, and the problem is, they mainly consist of airheads. The members of TBN, regardless of whether I agree with them or not, are the only ones I have found who make a real attempt to intelligently think about issues and discuss them without getting into personal attacks.

Maybe we should lift the entire membership of TBN into PBN - PoliticsByNet. I trust these men and women, and know that regardless of the subject, for the most part, everyone's opinion will be read and considered. I participate in several forums, and have looked at many more, and this one is the only one where I respect the opinions of all of the members, even the ones who are wrong. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree with this (AndyM posted a similar sentiment). However, it would be very easy for such threads to dominate TBN and before we know it TBN would morph into PBN! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Well, to bring it back on topic, let me pose a different question.

Is enlightenment a necessary precursor to owning a compact tractor, or does the act of owning a compact tractor bring about enlightenment? In other words, is it nature or nurture?

I have or had no intention of turning it into anything other than a question if anyone else read or heard about the draft being reinstated. If you are worried that the thread might spiral out of control,lock the thread or delete it.

In my case it would be nurturing. Had a Ford 5000 that was a 60 model. Have thousands of hours running Deere backhoe's and a few other brands now and then. Owning that old Ford and having this particular tractor is a learning experience all over again. I hope it stays that way. When one gets complacent, that is usually when the problems start. To do this tractor experinece all over, of course I would make some serious changes. But, I'll have to do with what I have until then.. Still, enjoyable overall and I guess that's what counts..

I have been thinking of trying to retrofit a draft control to my tractor, but I'm not certain that the beer keg will be enough ballast when I'm using my loader... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't want to hijack this thread though...better ask this question in a new thread I suppose... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wait! On second thought, this is right on target...it would be "bringing the draft back."
