Brush Hogging and Tree Trimming at the same time

Best thing I could suggest is have a good read of the manual.. Kubota makes so many different configurations it's hard to keep up. I don't know for sure what the HST version is supposed to do, mine is gear drive.

I do know that mine needed a "tweak" shortly after I got it. I could stand up and still not shut the tractor down while driving along. So, after talking with the dealer service dept, I adjusted the tab that actuates the seat switch. Works fine now.

Sean you made my point better than I did and I should not have used the word odd. Also I may have gotten confused by who posted what. Thanks for mentioning the different configurations. I think my configuration is as it should be according to manual. It is an HST. Even if I leave it in gear the tractor goes no where and I lower the FEL to the ground as an added brake and for safety. Engine is functional in or out of gear on seat or not unless I have pto engaged. With pto engaged if I get off of seat engine shuts down after about 2 seconds. If I want to use off seat pto implements I must tilt seat forward within about 2 seconds or engine does shut down. This is mentioned in my manual for the B2320. Anyway, I weigh 132 lbs and like that the engine stays on when I get off the seat which happens a lot when I hit bumps :D.

Mine does a few things that I wonder about sometimes. For instance, if I don't want to climb up to start the engine, I can depress the clutch with one hand and start the engine with the other, as long as the transmission range selector is in neutral.
If I were designing it, with a lawsuit in the back of my mind, I'd probably ensure the seat switch had to be made in order to enable the ignition.
Having said that, I like being able to start off-seat, if I want to raise the loader or 3ph from the ground.
100% safe under all conceivable circumstances? Not likely. Neither is crossing the road. It's a risk we manage for the sake of convenience.

i don't have to push in the clutch on mine, just make sure it is in neutral, and turn the key. . . she fires right up.

As many have said. it is always best to be safe. Where I live, pretty much every old time farmer up here has a different story of someone who got killed while doing something stupid on a tractor.

It is very hilly around here, which adds to the danger. I recently have adjusted my equipment so that I can do the jobs around here more safely. No job is worth risking your life over, and with a big machine it doesn't take much for something to go terribly wrong.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I just felt the need to state this.

ROPS and seat belts at all times.:D

I wouldn't be surprised if Deere left that feature out intentionally for liability reasons. I wonder if any of their newer tractors do have the ability to run off-tractor PTO? Like I said, I'm a bit surprised that Kubota offers the option.

Sean

All the other Deere's have this capability...which is a good thing. Tractors, beside doing work that requires mobility, are also excellent stationary power units for chippers, log splitters, generators and others...and that's just non-agricultural use.
I don't ever expect Deere, or any other manufacturer, to drop this capability. In the cases of the 3032e and 3038e, I think they were being pennywise and pound foolish (as the old saying goes).

I keep a foldup saw and hand nippers in a tool belt attached around the top of my FEL assembly immediately to my left. Had to lift a thorn tree limb yesterday to get the ROPS under it to bush hog some 3' high stuff including some thorn tree sprouts yesterday. A tree man is coming this month or next to whack off some of the lower thorn tree limbs as well as take care of other tree damage left by our record 56" snow this winter. I came out of the bush hog area another way to avoid that thorn tree limb.
