Re: Building a Pulverizer, Painted Version

I will have to let it dry out around here before I can try it out. We have been getting 2 days of rain and then 2-3 days without rain and then more rain again. It doesn't make for good tractoring.

Re: Building a Pulverizer, Painted Version

Looks like the thread is cold, after over a year, but there was no update about how the pulverizer does. I'd like to know. I have an old pulverizer I got a steal on, but I need to "refresh" the studs on the roller, as some are missing or bent, and all of them are only about 1/4" diameter and maybe 1/2" long. I'm thinking bigger, like you have on yours. That looks like it ought to be a beast.

I do wonder about how that roller does since all of the studs are in line, not staggered to support the roller until the next set comes along. This kind of looks like it might make a row of holes every 8" or so and have large gaps in between.

Please let us know how it does, hopefully with pics.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Building a Pulverizer, Painted Version

I'll tell you what. I will hook it up this weekend and take a few pictures for you guys. The spikes are staggered some. Each row alternates. On the store bought versions the spikes are in rows that wrap around the roller. I didn't feel like doing that. Too much work!

Re: Building a Pulverizer, Painted Version

Read my first post. It took me three years to build! Surely you didn't expect a quick turn around on the pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So how does it work? Does it do well? I am now thinking of welding rebar to mine as the wrinky-dink studs from the factory are either just too short or worn out.

Thanks,
Chris

OK, so how long will we have to wait for the results pics? I'm almost ready to start welding on the rebar to my worn out roller on the back, but I want to see the results of your before I do.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: Building a Pulverizer, Painted Version

Too much rain and having National Guard drill has kept me from taking pictures. I am leaving for vacation Sunday so barring anymore rain, I will take some Saturday, if not another week, sorry.
