Building a stick frame house in the woods in 90 days

I tend to agree with Stu. It's plenty high. It will look shorter when the finish grade is done, but the distance from the top of the blocks to the extension from the garage seems crowded looking from outside, but not as much from the patio side.

Blind areas around a house are not great for security because they can conceal perps. For example, someone could lurk behind that wall, your Mom comes home, opens the overhead door, and the perp follows her in.

I feel it. So something like this, right?

Ok, so how the heck did you do that? It looks MUCH better. Were you a step ahead of us or did you work some photoshop magic?

I love the idea of the slate caps on that wall with it being level all around. It will be very attractive. If you have to sell your mom on it, I have an idea. If she puts some planters with her flowers on that wall, she will get the privacy she is looking for and the beauty of her flowers at the same time.

Added some rock face. I know, not the right color or style, but you get the idea. Add some slate caps, and I agree this would look really good. The builder is going to kill me. :D

Off what? It looks great to me. For perspective, can you post of pic of what you thought it would like with the wall all the way up?

Good call Stu. The lower walls looks much better I think.

Yikes. Good call Stu!

Glad I could help and yes that looks awful to me. Ultimately, your mom is the boss so show her both and let her decide. Also, can you photoshop a pic of the low wall but without the veneer on the roof support post? I think it would look better with just a matching paint or vinyl cladding.

I think it looks much better low but I'm not really liking it at all. I'm not the one living there though. :)
