Poking around CL and such looking for miscellaneous accessories for this '58 641 of ours, more especially a front bumper, I've seen all sorts of variations and wanting to learn more about them I started saving the images, figuring I'd put 'em up here after searching for a "bumper thread" and not finding one.

So here we go. Pictures, though not of all that I've seen. Wondering if anyone can weigh in and identify some of these, and whether they're Ford or if they're aftermarket or even homebuilt.

Some of them may be duplicates, was getting kinda bleary-eyed when I was saving them.

Let's see what y'all have, and help me figure out what I should be looking for!

Unless you're doing a restoration, I'd be looking at the pictures, then heading to the barn to check my steel supplies, fire up the welder, and make something that works.

I built a grill guard and roll cage to suite my needs...

Dang, 'Crawler, that's some good looking work. Reminds me of a friend of ours up at Forest Road welding in NH, that guy makes nearly everything he needs.

One day I'll be able to do that, if I can ever get the heck out of CT...

Here's a couple more pics:

Never had a bumper. My tractors have always had loaders on them. Grill guards behind the loader, yes.

There are several different versions of bumpers for Ford "N" Series tractors. Many, I believe are made in a garage and bolted on. But, there's nothing wrong with that if it works. I've often wanted to find a original 8N bumper for my '49 8N as pictures below. If there one out there, I'm interested.

'Lad that's one good looking tractor right there.

Kirk, thanks for following this thread and ID'ing those bumpers - man is there anything you don't know about these old girls?!

Get a bumper for those ooppss moments. Get a bumper with a hitch built in. Best thing since sliced bread for backing trailers.

I did about 62 parades in 14 years pulling parade floats and trailers with adults and children onboard with this pulling setup on my '49 8N. It did a good job with no problems. I stopped the parades bit due to the high costs of Liability Insurance that is now required by most states. Laws now says it is $3 million that is required, which means to pull a float with children and adults with a old farm tractor or other antique machinery, the ticket is $8,000.00. The price is somewhat less on the insurance if you are just driving in a parade.

This setup here on my 8N was the standard option when it was sold.
