3-Point Hitch Burning Clutch Smell

   / Burning Clutch Smell #41
Yes they do. Every HST tractor I致e ever seen had a clutch pedal. I wasn稚 convinced my Grand L actually had a clutch ( the Grand L has an electric pto clutch vs the standard ) but when I had to split the Grand it it did in fact have a clutch.

As I said and as we are actually discussing Branson, Branson tractors don't have a dry clutch on HST models, not even for the PTO. And also don't have a Clutch pedal as they moved the brake pedals to the left side. You may want to check more tractors because there are more like this one.

On HST models, Branson simply uses a damper coupler from the flywheel to the HST transmission, which also feeds the PTO Wet clutch.

Well to go back afew years every International Hydro tractor did NOT have a clutch disc, 656 Hydro, Hydro 100, 1026 etc. did not have a clutch disc. They did have a foot pedal the they called a foot and inch pedal which actually operated a valve that controlled the transmission.

Many of the hyrostatic tractors on the market today do not have a dry clutch.

Here's what I have today...

I checked the free-play on the pedal...it was right 3/4"... So I adjusted it to exactly 1"...... Boy does it feel odd to push it that far down. ( also ...it was nice of Branson to put the adjustment turnbuckle behind an " easy to get to inspection plate).... Made it real easy to adjust from inside the cab.

Anyway...pulled the last log out of the woods today...(16ft)... And no smell, so far.

It feels so odd that you have to almost touch the floor with the pedal before it disengages/ engages the transmission.

I'll keep everyone updated on how things are going...but so far,...so good!!

Thanks everyone for their help, thoughts and ideas.

Thanks again

John
