Burning ULSD in Kerosene Heater?

You don't want to run kerosene in your tractor.

The intent was to use ULSD in the Kerosun. But the post about the wax content being more in ULSD than in kero, regardless of sulfur content leads me to believe that I'll continue using separate fuels for each.

The best thing to do is use the right fuel in the right equipment.
Kerosene in the Kerosene heater.
Diesel or HHO in the tractor.
As for the 50/50 mixture of the 2 fuels I might chance screwing up a 200 space heater with it.
No way would I take a chance on destroying a $20.000 tractor with that mixture.

I was chatting with the guy at the fuel distributor a couple of years ago when Kerosene shipments were on an alotment basis. He confirmed that K-1 (kerosene) and Jet A were almost the same -- Jet A has some additional additives put in it (like water dispersant, anti-corrosion, ... that you would want in Jet fuel but wouldn't need in kerosene for heaters and lamps).

I heard that old timers mixed kerosene with diesel or run straight kerosene in tractors in really cold climates before the howes, power service was around. I probably would do it in the winter when its 0 or below, but not in the summer since kerosene burns hotter then diesel.

When I was kid we used to have a cottage by the lake without electric power. Therefore we used wick kerosene lamps (I think we called them storm lamps). When filled with diesel the flame was kind of reddish and didn't provide nice light. It also took for a while before the glass cleared. When filled with kerosene the lamp burned bright yellow giving much better light and it took only short time for the glass to clear up.

1*Old timere aren't always rite.
2*Not me because you'd be getting to much Kero in the Diesel due to the mixing.
3*Winter or summer /hotter burning makes no difference.
