Bush Hog Connecting PTO shaft

Here is a link to it at Surplus Center. They call them both "sliding collar" style. https://www.surpluscenter.com/Power-Transmission/PTO-Shafts-Jack-Shafts/PTO-Shafts/1-375-DIA-6-SPLINE-W-SLIDE-COLLAR-TRACTOR-YOKE-1-3720-C.axd As I noted, I have all three types but, probably prefer the sliding collar with large flange. They all work IF you keep them clean and lubed. I think the cover over the yokes is part of the issue as it makes it difficult to get your hands around the yoke. Another issue with me is the Delta Hook QA I have to work around. The Woods cutter has my least favorite type yoke. Sent from my iPad using TractorByNet

Also, to further complicate hookup, the metal guard around PTO on my LS XR4046HC doesn't swing up like same on my New Holland TL100A.

I totally agree with Rick. I have the "easier" flange/collar type as OEM on my Bushhog 286. It MIGHT be easy to attach by holding the shaft and yoke between the butt of your palms while holding the flange back with several fingers on each side, EXCEPT that the big plastic bell end of the shaft cover prevents you being able to grasp the shaft between your palms and still be able to fit fingers in. Clearly, whoever designed the lock collar was NOT coordinating with the shaft cover designer! Two designs done in complete ignorance of the other.

I really do like Erik's bungee helper method. Will have to try that!

Well I sorta agree. I haven't tried it that way. I might try it at some point.

But what I have done is not hook up the top link and bungee cord it back to the tractor so I can step over and above the drive shaft.

That's why I suggested the screwdriver to push the yoke forward as one uses their other hand to pull back the collar. It works well. And a bungee holding the shaft at the right height can't hurt make the whole nightmare less of one...

By Far the worst implement that I have with the stupid pull back collars is the PHD! There is absolutely zero room to get between the tractor/phd. I usually wind up just about laying on the ground under the shaft and still fighting to get it on. Those **** pull back collars are of the freaking devil. :(
