Buying a new L5740 HSTC?

4shorts; love that tractor more every time I see it.

I really like the idea of an air ride seat, but also really like the swivel seat on mine and use it far more than anticipated; decisions, decisions...

Thanks my buddy. I've never seen a motorcycle or tractor that I didn't like. I've got an awful craving for the new Zetor tractors  Oh man the thoughts that go through my head if I had one of those puppies:cool2:
I think the absolute worst part of the 5740 I got was the seat. It was hard as a rock. Bottomed out while traveling and I personally didn't think the swivel had enough range to justify using it. the air ride seat is so comfy that I'm considering planting one in our Kubota ZTR. But hey. Like my wifey say's "I'm a fuss bucket" :confused3:

Same here, I had to stop riding motorcycles this year and it's one of the hardest things I ever did. I had to stop riding for a few year 40+ years ago after a car wreck, but LOTS of physical therapy and hard work finally got me back in the saddle; life goes on.

Right now we are doing some more reforestation and with arthritis in my neck and back, just that little bit of swivel is a lot of help as I am trying to keep the area mowed and not hit any trees and scrape them up or mow them down. Where I have the room, I use the M8540 which even without air ride is very smooth.

Our farms are cris-crossed with washouts and I can't depend on my mirrors to see them through the grass, so to keep it on its wheels, I have to keep a sharp lookout front and back. A couple of weeks ago, I still managed to get my front end in one, but managed to get out with my FEL. Luckily, I found one just before my son ran a skid loader off into it, he couldn't see it at his height due to the brush.

I've got two strong sons, so I just may buy an air ride and have them swap it back and forth if the new mounting system isn't too bad.

Sorry to hear you had to give up riding. Id have a hard time having to do that. I'm 52 now and been riding since I was 10. My first bike was a 1969 Honda Z50 and a few years ago I found another one just like the one I had and restored it. I loved that little bike. I have three GoldWings ;) and a few other bikes that Ive restored.

You'll love the air ride seat but it's a big seat in the 5740 and proper placement is very important to make them fit right and the down side to it is the cab is to narrow to put the swivel attachment under it and that's sad because the Grammer swivel turns almost half way around. I can understand now why any swivel would benefit your needs. Sorry to hear of your issues. If you were next door I'd have you comfortable in that can within a few evenings.

Ya their pretty bad. Don't know who ok'd the likes of them in a tractor.

Hey Triple. Here's a vid of the "69 Honda Z50 I restored. Wish I was 10 again to ride it :) The song I used in the video was on the top 100 for 1969.

Love your Z50. You do amazing work!!! Brings back good memories. I started my motorcycle days on a 1973 Z50.

Well brace yourself if they do come out with them. When I decided to go for the air ride retrofit I called my selling Kubota dealer and I asked them for a price quote on a M series air ride seat. They came back with a $3600. Price tag
It's safe to say they didn't sell me one

Well thank you very much. Glad you like the Z50. Out of all the bikes I've restored and have in my collection the Z50 is my favorite. Here it is with its bigger brothers :dance1:

My neighbor just said the other day it was $500 to upgrade to a air ride seat in his 5000 series New Holland.

You may want to wait to see if Kubota does offer an air ride seat for the GLs. If they do it could be easy to install and it may even have a swivel.

Seeing those old Honda remind me of my first ride, a Honda US90. Back then I was young and thin. I could actually float with those balloon tires, now I would sink.

Do you guys know the factory seat reclines, I just found that out a couple of weeks ago. I guess I did not see it because I still have the plastic bag on it.
