BX 2200 LIFT ARM ADJUSTERS

Charliebrn,
I looked at the attached picture of your mod but I'm still unsure of exactly where you needed to cut, grind and drill out for bushings. Would you be able to put some arrows or numbers on the photos?
Didn't you also (in the past) modify the lift arm hole placement. If so, any problems with using the new turnbuckles?
Thanks.
David

If you are installing the B2710 adjusters on a BX series tractor, you'll need to modify the "female" tube to allow it to slip around the mounting point at the rear of the lift-arms. Those mounting points are roughly triangular in shape and need to slip into the tubing. As they come from the dealer, the flat tubes have a square end, so you need to grind off the side a little less than 2" so the mounting points can slip in from that side. From the pictures I've seen, grinding a little off the other corner is also helpful to keep them from binding when things are spread "wide".

Yea, it was me that drilled new holes in the lift rod yokes to get a bit more lift on the 3pt when using the blade. Although it's a close fit, it doesn't seem to cause any problems with new sway bars. Remember to leave the retainer pin for those lift rod pins on the inside though, or you'll be taking everything apart if you want to re-lower the 3pt for a tiller or something that you need to go lower with. I'll post some better pics tonight of the details of this mod. We're supposed to get some snow tonight, so I'll get to play some... /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

I too have just completed the switch from turnbuckles to telescopic units from the 2710. I had no problems due to the excellent advice from the users of this board. I would like to say that my last tractor had the telescoping units and boy was I happy to get these hooked up. I remember the first tractor I had , a B7100 that used the turnbuckles, boy did I detest changing implements on that tractor. Well I am sure glad I made the change. I have about $65 in the project and it will save me alot more then that in stress. I now have the BX2200 with 60"mmm, 48" Woods bushhog, Three point spreader 6 bushel cap. Befco tiller (which I may have to downsize it's a 66" model from my larger tractor) 60" york rake and box scraper, and a Befco mole 3 post hole auger. I have seen where it may be necessary to cut down the neck on the auger bit so it will work with the BX. If anyone has done this please let me know. Bottom line is I'll not worry about switching out implements now. I will have a front loader before the spring and plan to mount a 54" or 60" blade in the bucket as I did with my NH TC33D to remove snow form my driveway. Bigguy

had my brother make the attachment for the front of the adjusters, think they'll work fine, as you can see i've been in the woods dragging firewood, note the vines around the right axle

Anyone considering buying a BX or B7500 should consider this upgrade IF you plan on using any 3 pt attachments, it is so much easier to switch implements with this set up. Thanks Walt for coming up with this. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I agree with NY Yankee Fan, the telescoping adjusters are a great improvement over the turnbuckles. The modification is easy to make and the dealer will sometimes give you a refund on the turnbuckles if they are new. My dealer did.

I did the deed...see attached. (Finally got them installed two weeks ago after they sat on my shelf for months!)

What exactly do I ask my dealer for on my new BX22? Anything to make my job easier is alright by me. Does this do what the telescoping arms on the B2410 do? Last what does this upgrade cost? Thanks for bringing this to my attention..
