BX 2230 vs BX 23

When you get the final figures, give the local dealer a shot at matching it. If he can still see a profit, then he might just take the deal. If he is pig headed like so many of the dealers, he will loose out. That tractor cost the dealer about $12500 without the MMM. The MMM cost the dealer about $1350. With the total package costing about $13850, plus freight, you will have a good idea of how much his gross profit is. Remember that he still has to pay for set up, etc. He is entitled to a profit, but he shouldn't want to be getting rich on one sale. If the difference in price is small, then I would go with the closer dealer if you think that he will give you good service. Also keep in mind that he only sells a small amount of tractors a year as compared to car dealers, so his profit margins have to be more. You want a price that both of you can live with... Junk....

I eventually plan on getting a front blade or snow blower. Is there anything special I need to be aware of here? Whats this I've seen about 3 vs 4 valves and were they are located? Was that a issues with the BX22 only? The Bx23 has 4 vlaves on the joystick right?

Thanks

It isn't the number of valves on the joy stick, it is how the valve is made. Too complicated for me to explain it, but you can do a search and learn all about the valves. There is a little confusion about the BX23 coming with a 4 way valve as standard equipment. I would check with the dealer to make sure that it is the 4 way valve. You need this to operate the snowblower. Most BX22's came with the 4 way valve unless the tractors was sold on a price competition basis. Then the dealers would keep all options off to lower the price. The snow blower will cost you about $2500.... a blade will be about $1500 from what I remember. Part of the price of each is the cost of the mounting hardware. Same hardware for both, but the blower takes an additional PTO kit. If you are financing the tractor, then it is better to put all the options on when you order it for the best deal price..

Just a quick note I ordered the cruise control for my new bx23 it was $80.00 extra

I just spoke to 2 different dealers and both say cruise is not an option on the BX23. I don't think it'll be a big issue. I'm curious though, was this an aftermarket thing or what?

1*I was also looking at a used BX 23
2*I was told the BX 23 didn't come from the factory with the mid mount PTO so dropping a mower deck below it would take some reconfiguring it.
3*I was told it could be done but it didn't come from the factor that way.
4*I'm wondering if it would be better to stick with the BX 2230 then add on the backhoe or try for the BX 23 and and see about putting a deck under it.
5*Does anyone here have a BX 23 and also use the mid mount mowing deck?

1*If you are considering used check this out .http://classifieds.tractorbynet.com/ViewItem.php?ItemNum=680081448
It's as nice as The BX23.
2*You were told wrong.
3*Who is handing you all this crap?
4*First problem here is the BX 2230 isn't designed for a BH.That's why there is the BX23.
Why bollix up a Bx 2330 with an off breed BH at a cost of 800 to 2300 bucks more than the BX23 when you can get the real deal for hundreds or thousands less by going with the BX23?
As far as the mower issue there is no difference on that issue between the BX2230 and the BX 23.
If it was safe to put a BH on the BX 2230 wouldn't Kubota be making and selling them for the BX2230 instead of letting Woods Have their Business ?????
5*I don't know who's filling your head with all the nonsense, but so far it' looks like they've done a pretty fair job of it.LOL
The BX 23 was specifically designed to be able to use the mower to mow without removing the FEL or the BH.
I have never removed the FEL BH or mid mount mower on my BX23 Yet have used each one of them many times over.

Interesting comment about being designed to mow with the BH and FEL attached. Ya might wanna check your mower height. I know that on my BX22, the BH prevents the rockshafts (and therefore the mower deck) from fully descending, so you're cutting higher than 4" (if at all).

1*The 60" MMM deck is made to fit the BX23, it is an option, about $1800 BUT will fit and work fine.
The BX23 DOES come with a mid PTO standard.
2** I would visit another Kubota dealer who knows what they are talking about. 1**********

Search BX22 or BX23 and you will find much info on this topic. )
*******
1*Mine was $1300
2*I agree that some body has fed the poster a bunch of garbage

I was quoted a price of $13,500 w/o tax) for a new 2230, 60" deck and LA211 FEL.

That's pretty steep considering My BX 23 was $15500 with the BH or $11800 with out figuring in the BH.

Had I gone with the Bx 2230 and the Woods BH I would have shelled out $16300 to $17800 instead of only $15500.

If you're thinking BH forget the BX 2230 cause there is no cheeper way to get a tractor with a BH than going with either The Kuboth Bx23 or the Massey Ferguson CG 2310.

1*He may just be trying to move his old inventory. He didn't actually have a BX 23 to show.
2*So the only real difference between the 23 and the 2230 is the 23 comes with the FEL and BH as standard ?
)

1*That's what I have been thinking.
2*That and the fact that the BX23 is beefed up to handle a BH but the Bx2230 is not.!

( Pond,

The BX23 has has about 300 lbs more weight because of the extra steel on the frame for the backhoe. Other then that they are the same tractor. Now what would happen from a warrenty point of view if you bend the frame on the BX2230 with a Wood hoe? What will Kubota say and will they pay to fix it??? 1*These are questions you need to ask and consider.

Happy reading /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

1* ESPECIALLY WHEN The BX 2230 with a woods hoe cost more than a BX23 with the Kubota BH.
