Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

I got it as part of my initial tractor purchase so the price was a little 'soft', but I believe it retails around $300. The skids for the blade were an additional $100 or thereabouts. A quick phone call to a LandPride dealer (locations on their web-site) will get you the price in your area ... they don't deal direct!

Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

David,
May I use your amazing picture of your BX2200 holding the rock on my Web site? I have not put my tractor page together yet, but I offer gardening, farming and other books through Amazon and want to offer tractor books also.

My site is www.yessiree.com. It's just a hobby site and not very fancy. Your photo would really dress it up.

Re: BX "Boulder Holder"

Thanks for asking and by all means feel free to use it. Frankly, I assumed any pictures posted here were somewhat "public domain" anyway.

Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

bare with me whilst I flounder about here:
How hard is it to mow with the FEL on?
Do you take it off to mow? Is it really practical to remove and replace or is it honestly a bit of a chore? does it take an afternoon or 10 minutes? Does it take more maintenance? does it steal power from the tractor?
Also, please answer all the questions I didn't know to ask!
Thanks!!! ;^)

Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

As another data point, I reciently bought a 7' land pride blade (same as the one in this thread but wider blade) without skids for $395. The 6' model was $350. There prices were at my local dealer in NH.

Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

I always remove my FEL for mowing. Usually takes 2 minutes to remove and maybe 3-5 to reinstall

Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

On my B7500 I mow with my FEL attached. Just watch out for the bucket, er, no real damage been done but my FEL has trimmed a couple trees, flowers & shrubs. I'm told it takes less than 5 minutes to attach/reattach the FEL but I'm constantly fixing a spot or twenty in the yard.

Rogue,

Stumbled across this graphic that shows the Kubota 'quick-hitch' front end attachments ...

Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

I mow with the FEL on my BX. No problem, as long as you don't forget it's out there.

Re: BX \"Boulder Holder\"

I would also add to all you boulder movers, be cautious, as the right shaped boulder can add a nice curve to the bottom of your bucket. Standard buckets are not designed for this type of use. Consider welding on a reinforcement to the bottom, or adding a bolt on cutting edge if it's an option. It's so much easier to do this then fix a warped out bottom edge.

With that said... BRING ON THE BOULDERS! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
