Does anyone have the front quick attach blade on their BX? If so, could you post a couple pics of the unit and the mount along with the pros and cons of this unit.

Right now I'm going to get some seat time clearing snow out of the drive. Yes I know it's only Nov 8th.

I have seen this, like it, want it, everything but need it, I have a FEL, and of course the wife said NO WAY!

I think around 1300.00 here

Dean, I just finished installing the front blade on my BX, I had to start from scratch and install everything, I only had the MMM when I purchased the tractor. The front mount is heavy duty, when I first took it out of the box, I thought the way it hooked up to the tractor was a little weak looking, with the two clamp blocks on the top, but it does hook up solid. The taper fit for attaching the blade to the mount also looked weak with the one tab to lock the blade to the mount, but after installation it to proved to be strong. I do not have close up pictures of the mount, I will post what I have. If you want close-ups I can take some tomorrow.

Just for reference I paid $1900 plus tax for the control valve with stand, and hyd lines, the front mount and the 60" power angle blade. The skid shoes were $100 more, If I need them, I think I will make a set.

Dean,

I just had the front quick hitch (BX2711) and front blade (TG2754) installed on my BX1500. I live in New England and we get our fair share of snow and a variety of it too (everything from light and fluffy to deep and heavy). I feel that plowing is much better than using my FEL. The plow set-up is great, except that I am disappointed with the manual angle operation on the TG2754. It requires you to get off your tractor seat, pull a pin, pivot the blade at the desired angle, and replace the pin. I do not like this at all, so I plan to modify the TG2754 by welding a 2"x8" cylinder to operated the angle. I will control the cylinder from my pedestal mounted joystick control vale, which also operates the vertical movement of the quick hitch.

I had called Kubota to question why the hydraulic angle option is not available for the BX1500 (i.e. why they do not recommend using the BX2763A 60" front blade with the BX1500). They said I could purchase and install the BX2763A, but that is more of a commercial blade, weighs 250lbs (TG2754 weighs 110lbs), cost about $2000 (TG2754 cost me $350), and they said I could have some performace issues, as the BX1500 may not have enought power to push a deep heavy snow. They did tell me that they will be offering the TG2754 with the hydraulic angle option next year, but will drive the cost of the plow up around $1000.

I'll post some pics once I finish my modification.

Thanks for the info guys (and gal). I would definately like the power angle. I have to manually angle my rear blade and that is getting old fast.

Frank: Thanks for the pics. Nice setup btw. If you could snap a couple pics of the mount and hydraulic cylinder I would appreciate it.

Franks,

Thanks a lot for posting the pics. That is exactly how I plan to modify my TG2754. In fact, I ordered all of the components today. I'll post the pics when I finish welding it up and plumb the hydraulics. Thanks again.

Sorry Shaun. I referred to you as a gal in a previous post because or your user name. Sometimes it helps to fill out your profile so we know a bit about the people we rely on for info.

Sounds like you are about to modify your setup into something I'd like to be able to buy from the dealer. I would like to see the results of the work you are about to do. I'm going to ask my dealer about the possibility of tha 54 inch blade with hyd angle. If they are going to make it available in Canada I may wait for one.

Thanks for the pics Frank. It's nice to see up close what you are about to spend your money on. My dealer is a small outfit
and I've never seen one on his lot.

The front blade angle modification on my BX1500 is completed, except for the paint. Check out the pics.

How much extra do you have in it with the hydraulic angle addition.

Looks nice, might be a nice future addition to mine, but CFO won't approve for quite a while I think /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Surfran,

I am not sure I understand your question, but if you want to know how much it cost me to add the hydraulic ram, here's the run down:
$88 for the 2x8x1.5 Chief Hydraulic ram (from surpluscenter.com)
$40 for assorted hydraulic connectors and hoses (from surpluscenter.com)
$40 for (2) Kubota female hydraulic quick connectors (I was told by a technician at surpluscenter.com that I should use the Kubota quick fittings, as the ones they sell may not quite match the male quick connects on my joystick valve, and may leak slightly)
$5 for 2"x3/8"x24" flat steel
about 10 hours of my time cutting, bending, fabricating, and welding

I didn't think this cost was too bad, considering that I was told by Kubota that they will be introducing the TG plow with hydraulic angle next year. The price increase will go from $350 MSRP (without hydraulic angle) to $999 MSRP (w/ Hydraulic angle), so for under $200, I made the modification.
