bx power

Powers not necessarily for pulling power, there are some static pto powered implements that benefit from more pto power, chippers is the first to come to mind.

You also have to look at engine size and where it makes the power. The bx2670 uses the 1.0L, the b2601 uses the 1.1L at a lower rpm, the b2650 uses the 1.3L at an even lower rpm. Same HP at lower rpm = more TQ.

FEL and BH's don't require a lot of hp to run.

Good points. Especially on compatible chipper sizing.

Wow, First time I have seen torque mentioned. I think I need to go investigate the different torque ratings for the BX25 versus the B2650. I had just assumed that I wood chipper would be too big for either of these tractors.

I believe the bx25 uses the d905, the b2650 uses the d1305, kubota should have the hp/TQ curves listed online somewhere

Quick calculations, the bx25 has 37.7 ft lbs at rated rpm, b2650 has 54.6ft lbs, this doesn't take into account where the peak is or the area under the curve which can make a big difference.

Well, that is 45% more torque for the B2650. That would go along way to make a wood chipper more responsive to bigger diameter pieces, because the torque would help prevent the RPMs from slowing way down. I was thinking of getting a smaller wood chipper for my BX25, but I felt that the 17 hp PTO rating was a bit on the light side.

I run a Jinma chipper on my b2620, have been very impressed with how well it runs it, can always use more power though!
I'm getting ready to add a turbo to mine.

This is where I'm at too and decided against a chipper, although mainly due to cost. Really liked the Walllenstein BX32 until I found out the price.

You can put a tirbo on these things??!! How much power does it add?
You can put a turbo on just about anything lol, but luckily kubota offered a factory turbo on the d1105 engine in certain applications. I have access to a parts engine for most of the little parts and have a low hr turbo and manifold.

Biggest issue will be fitting it in the engine compartment.

Should be about a 4-5hp increase, however it will also be more responsive and torque curve will be fatter. I don't live at a high elevation so that doesn't matter as much.
