Ready to throw some mud. I did take it out and drive it around yesterday and I didn't notice any difference in the steering, I even took it to the creek and run it down the creekbed over a lot of bolders, I was surprised that there was no jerking in the steering. Setting still it is a little heavier steering unless the rpm's are up, but running down the rutted road to the creek even with one of the outter front wheels on a ridge, it didn't pull to one side. I'm pleased so far, just have to watch for signs of stress especially around the lug bolt holes on the outter wheels. The rear wheels are mounted with a spacer ring, but I used bolts in the holes for mounting weights to the wheels.
I had an exhaust leak where the muffler is bolted to the manifold and I thought it was the gasket, but when I took the muffler off, I found that one of the mounting holes in the muffler was ripped out so I made a new flange and had a pipe bent up to exit where the original pipe was. I ran it with a straight pipe to haul some wood and I saw right away that I had to go get a muffler. It is slightly louder than it was but it has a tone that reminds me of the neighbors old SC Case when I was a kid.

I'd call it a tractor.

i'd keep a close eye on the bearings and the knuckles on that front end. i've fixed many 'bouta frontends from people getting a lil' too hard on it with the fel. that extra set of tires won't help

Good job, I especially like the upright exhaust.

What a hassle though to check your air pressure /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif on the inner tire when set up as duals. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

That almost makes me think you could have mounted the new wheels in reverse and mount them first with the valves toward the inside just for this problem.
Oh well, it's cool anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

MILKMAN,
Can you give us some detailed photos of that exhaust. That really makes it look like a big TRACTOR ID like that upgrade on my 23

It's a rusty old 6' JD disc, in the video, you can hear it screaking in a couple of places, and that's my ugly brother doin the driving. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In all seriousity, I had a thought that it may be a disc but, I read another thread where someone said a BX couldn't pull even a 43" disc. Hmmm, ... now that I think about it, seems like I remember some folks told you that you couldn't PLOW with your BX either. ... Sure seems like there's a lot of stuff you CAN'T do with that BX /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You forgot, you can't use full size cat1 implements, can't use it in the woods, can't use hydro with ground engageing equipment. I'm glad I bought mine before I found out all that it won't do. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I have to retract the offer of the vid clip, I found that my mail server times out before I can send a file that large. If anyone knows how I can shorten or break the file into parts, let me know please. I have a chop saw and a sawzall, but can't seem to make that work for this.

I orderd my set of wheels and tires to put duels on my BX2300... The only thing I'm doing different is that I'm useing the holes for the wheelweights to bolt the two together... I just don't like the tipping feeling...

That looks great. A whole lot cheaper than a new tractor too, I bet.

You know we're all waitin for pictures, and the holes for the wheel weights is how I fastened the rears together, but my fronts didn't have holes for weights so I had to change the front bolts to studs in the front hub, anxious to see the finished project.:D

Milkman,
Does Kubota know one of its players is on steroids? What will the national tractor league say? Will the BX just claim he didn't know what was in the diesel his friend gave him? What impact will this unfair advantage have on the rest of the BX owners out there?
