BX22/23/24 Owners...Regrets?

   / BX22/23/24 Owners...Regrets? #21
BX32 with 130 hrs, 2 finished acres, 1/4 acre pond.
I am content with my purchase.
Positives:
BH for rocks, stumps, ect. all those things I could not get too or took hours doing. I now have a power digger.
FEL: Hauling periodic wood pellets for stove in winter.
Hauling mulch, ect.
60" MMM: cover more ground faster than my wheelhorse 48"

Negitives:
60" mower is too big for some areas
ROPS: clearance issues with trees, even after folding and trimming limbs.

Ive got a BX23 with only about 50 hrs on it. My only regret is not holding out for a BX24.
Not a regret so much, just something I would change if I had that power. I still like my old GST transmission better than the Hydro, I wish there was a GST option on the BX.

No Regrets, after 650Hrs...

I only wish the The BX24, had been around 3years ago, it has more power & will mow on hills, in high gear.

The size never stop me moving moutains, it's often better than a bigger tractor, since it will not sink/stuck on soft terrains.

Hope this helps, eitheir one in photo is a good choice.

Richard

Probably the main thing you will second guess yourself on is the size. I looked at these and am so glad I went with a larger tractor. I do not need a BH or FEL (even though a FEL would be nice at times, no way to justify the cost when I can use 2-3 others within 1/4 mile). But the size feels better and the power is nice. Like some have said consider that this is just a big powerful riding mower and used a regular garden tractor or a ZTR for lawn mowing. If that would better suit your needs then get the ZTR and a bigger tractor, B or L model.

With my L size I would not change a thing for my needs, so you really have to look at your needs and how they will grow or develope.

mmm... regrets? I don't think so. But yes I changed my former BX23 for a B3030 last year. I put 105hr on the BX23 and I changed because:

backhoe: I wanted something with more power, more reach, 180 degrees boom swing, no need to turn the seat every time, a larger angle of departure
FEL: more power (bucket cylinders above all), quick-attach, forks
ROPS: possibility to fold in two completely
electric system: better isolated light switches
PTO HP: enough power to run my 64" snowblower and a 60" tiller
remote hydraulic valves: (2) integrated in the fender
dash: a tachometer, tilt steering wheel (I must admit that I don't remember if I had one on my former BX23)
parking brakes: strong enough that I can't run with the breaks on
hydraulic flow: enough to use a logsplitter efficently (speed)
3P hitch: no turnbuckles (telescopic stabilizers: they keep the hitch opened), telescopic lower links ends; position control valve
maintenance: better access to the engine (no grill guard to remove)
transmission: a mid-gear

I'm happy that I had the chance to own a BX23 but I'm happier now with a B3030. I'm in my second year and I don't wish to have something bigger. I really think I'll have this tractor for a long time. I know that some features changed between a BX23 and a BX24. I gave you my point of view about my former BX23, keep that in mind (for exemple: a BX24 has a digital tachometer).
