No need to be sorry. H4 is the bulb you need since it is the shortest and the mating surface & DIA is almost perfect.

The H3 bulb might be shorter by I think the base diameter is too small here and will not fit in the dia provided..

As I am sure you know that answer. I am looking for more direct light for other apps & glare (outside light) for when I have the FEL on.

In general they add more surrounding light then the normal halogens.
