Perfectly flat ground, no FEL, no Hoe, just a mid mount mower.

To be truthfull, the front yard does have a mild slope, but I mow up and down that, not side to side. And the slope is gentle. I only go up and down it to get the lines like I want them. I've mowed it sideways before with no pucker factor at all.

If you have a slope, you would be better off letting the ROPS on, all it takes is a small hole in the yard to flip it if you do go sidling to the hill, while turning the wheel slightly.

Just do some trimming so the ROPS will fit under the obstructions.

Hillsides will cause that if the operator isn't careful,(sometimes even if they are) but that has nothing to do with the OP's situation.

I guess the OP could flip it though..........if he tried to drive over the top of his car

Your right Don. I had posted my opinion earlier, maybe you did or didn't see it and because of these pics thought I'd changed my opinion. I haven't, it's still his choice and I still think he should remove it.

4 pages now, and things get foggy:confused3:

Op says he has a slope(post 32).........I've changed my opinion as I know just how fast these things can go over. I've almost flipped mine more than once.

I've not been careful several times over the 10 years of tractoring and gotten close a few times and got brown shorts or almost a few times but.....I can tell you now I'm nore careful than before. One of those "things" that sticks with you for awhile.
Good grief John, that's some scay looking stuff, glad you weren't hurt.

ME TO! Thanks Triple R. It has caused me to be more careful which is a good thing.

I sure know what you mean, no matter how many hours we rack up or how proficient there is often a razor thin margin and we don't know it until we are lying on our back looking at blue sky wondering "what the heck just happened" and that's if we are lucky. Looking at your tractor is a good lesson to many of us thanks for posting.

The truth emerges, So now we have a slope:confused3:

Oh my god! No way! And your not using a full roll cage with front, rear, and side impact airbags? I can't believe my eyes!

Seriously though, the important thing Is that your AWARE of the dangers and MINDFUL of how to mitigate the risks involved.

Out of curiosity, do you wear your seatbelt when you mow your lawn?
