BX2230 vs. TZ24DA

I'd be real surprised if we don't see those curved loader arms on Kubotas, JD's, Massey in the near future. I was able to sit on 2 identical NH tractors that were parked side by side, and one had the curved loader arms, and the other had the dog leg arms. The differences and advantages really hit you square in the head, so to speak. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I remember years back trying to do certain loader tasks, and having to stretch, lean, and get out of the seat to see exactly where the loader was with my old Yanmar with the dog-leg loader arms. I don't think I'll have to be doing that very often with this new machine. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Bandit, I'm not so sure that Kubota or Deere will follow really fast. Both brands have fairly long flat hoods on their tractors, the curved loader arms on the New Holland & Farmall tractors are a great visual match the curved hood design on those tractors. I know when I realized the difference was after I spent several days cleaning out a field behind my warehouse with the B2910 and it really struck me how hard it is to see the bucket and when you are trying to lift something more specific than a pile of dirt or mulch, the visibility in front of that machine is absolutely lacking. Hopping back on my TC24D and its curved arms was like a blind man having his vision healed. The thing that also was pretty amazine was all the flack I caught for saying that the square arms are lousy and the curved arms are amazingly better. Lots of people chimed in to say that they could work just fine . . . blah blah blah. . . and they, of course, never used a curved arm loader.

Take a look at Kioti and you will see they have curved loaders on their CK tractors but straight arms on their other machines.

Kubota has hoods that stick out straight and long, curved arms would probably look funny on a Kubota. If if they put curved arms on their loaders, the hoods stick out so far that they block the view anyway. And I like using the B2910, spent several hours moving some big piles of dirt yesterday, but IF there was a toothbar on my TC24D, I think I might have used it instead, despite its smaller size.

Deeres do have some slope to their hood design, but not too much. They might be able to benefit from a somewhat curved design and not have the loader look out of place.

I put a deposit on the Case. I liked the color scheme and front grille more than I thought I would (and more than the NH - no offense blue owners, just my personal opinion)

I'm a blue owner, but I like the looks of the red ones better! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

My TZ24DA was delivered this weekend. It's a really nice machine and I'm very happy with my decision. I got a FEL, 54" deck and a weight box in the package. I'm very happy with the mower, it did a great job on both my yard and side field, about an acre each. I spent some time with the FEL trying to learn how to grade and dig/fill holes. My wife wasn't too impressed but I'm getting a little better.

Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's opinions and experience. They really helped me make a good choice on my first 'real' tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

AUSaxon, Congratulations on your new machine. Don't worry about the loader work, you'll be doing just fine in less time than you can believe.
Gerard, I think he means the Case tractor. John

Case-New Holland has resurrected the FARMALL brand. Farmall DX series tractors are basically clones of the New Holland Boomer series machines, they also introduced the Farmall as a Sub-CUT. The tractors are painted Farmall red. The major difference between the Farmall and the New Holland line up, other than the paint color, is the headlamp arrangement. Farmall headlamps are side by side, New Holland headlamps have dual stacked headlamps. There are some other differences such as SuperSteer being an exclusive product of New Holland.

Does that mean that the Farmall brand will get its own Farmall Forum like Kubota, John Deere, New Holland, Kioti????? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Like Bob said, they're exactly the same, except for the grill and headlights. Sort of like Dodge and Plymouth! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
