I looking to buy a tractor soon and the bx serie seems to be the size that i need. So i'm wondering if it's better to purchase the BX23(a little cheaper) or the BX24(one HP bonus but a potential fender's problem). Give me your opinion.
Thank you.

This is an open ended question, because you don't spell out your financial needs. If you purchase a BX23, in all probability it will be a used machine. There are not a lot of used BX24's on the market, so I will assume that you are going to purchase a new one. If you purchase used, you have what is left of the original factory warranty, and a new one comes with the full warranty in your name. It depends on the price difference between new and used if the shorter, or non existent warranty is important to you. If you feel that the savings are great enough, then you can well afford to self insure. I have seen some BX22's & 23's that have looked like they were worked very hard, and wouldn't even consider them at half price of new. I have also seen some that have been so gently used and well taken care of that I would have no hesitation of purchase and are a much better value. These little tractors do hold there value and sometimes a used tractor is so closely priced that buying new is the better deal. Also consider what accessories come with the tractor. A used tractor that has been well maintained and has a lot of extras, such as a snow blade or snowblower is always an attractive deal, unless the seller thinks that he/she should be able to recoup almost all the original cost of these items. I purchased a BX snowblower at half price. To me, that was a great deal, and the blower had next to no use on it. Only you can decide what you are comfortable with when it comes to new vs. used. It will be for sure a new one in both cases. The difference is 1500$ canadian. I prefer the look of the 24 but i'm scared about the fender. Do you think that the resale value will be affect by that?

Here's a recent thread along these lines:

Both are great machines. Personally, I think the 23 is a more conservative choice if you plan to keep it forever, but the 24 may have better resale value in the shorter run.

BX23 is simpler and a more robust design (read "more metal"). 24 definitely has a couple of neat new features, but also a fair share of teething problems. People here were criticizing all that new plastic looong before parts started breaking...

One more horsepower? Ummm I looked at a 24 engine Friday and it is still labeled "BX23" right on the valve cover. Not to worry, they both have ridiculously high power/weight.

Either one will knock your socks off if you've never owned a tractor.

I'm sure I'll get pummeled for this - but I'm gonna ask it anyhow...

Why - exactly - is the BX23 a better choice than a BX24 - for only $1500ca less? If you were buying last model years car - you would expect a lot more than $1500ca off the sticker... (granted a tractor is not a car - just my observation)
Yes - the fenders are an issue for some people on the BX24 - but there are a lot more BX24 owners who don't have fender problems.
I think the list of improvements on the BX24 outweighs the cosmetic issues that may arise - curved loader booms and curved BH boom to name the 2 biggest.
I dunno - it just seems to me that, right or wrong, you should expect some minor bugs to get worked out of any new model anything... Kubota products no exception... and if the biggest worry I ever have is the original fender might crack (and be replaced) - I'm thinkin it's a pretty solid product. My $0.02.
You asked for opinions - I say - get the BX24.

I see the curved loader arms and the curved backhoe boom as just a cosmetic change. It doesn't make either work any better. If curved arms were actually a benefit, the large backhoes that are used by construction contractors would have them by now. I just don't see the curved arms as an improvement, unless you consider an aesthetic change an improvement. Dusty

I don't like it you can't leave the FEL BH & MMM on the BX24 all the time like I do with my BX23.
I don't like the round look of the BX24 either ~ if I wanted a blimp on wheels I'd buy a blimp on wheels.
