BX23 - Starts right up - stalls when moving

After replacing the fuel filters again,(they are cheap- i know you said they were serviced recently) if the symptoms still persists, then there is a possibility of the fuel pump is about to die.

You also might want to try blowing the lines out from filter into the tank. there might be something clogging the inlet. Those 2 fixes are easy and cheap. then there is the fuel pump.

Thanks for the responses everyone. The brake is in the up position so it's not he brake. On my BX23, the brake is tall and behind the gas petal and does not stay down. I did step on the brake today to make sure it was in the up position and it was. Started right up as usually and stalled the moment I moved forward with speed.

I don't agree with the fuel filter. The machine starts right up and runs smooth, even at fuel trottle. I've had fuel filter issues before and the machine would run rough and shake like mad.
Or it would run and at moments start to stall then power back up.

The machine runs great and I think the poster who said it's a safety switch is correct.
How many safety switches does the BX23 have under the seat?

One switch is a push button that clips under the seat.
There is second switch with a white 1.5 to 2 inch white plastic toggle attached to a gray small box that has wires going to it that looks like a switch also. Anyone ever replace this toggle switch?

If you do fuel do both filters my manual only shows one!!!!!!
but if you can run the throttle at full speed with the hoe or loader with the trans in in neutral in my opinion it is a safety switch.

On mine you can move the petal a little in gear without any one on seat and tractor will creep.

There are 2 switches seat support 3 wires on it and seat switch 2 wires look at them to see if they are making correctly one has a lever thingy (technical term)

I had a similar problem with a BX24. Would start fine, idle fine, rev fine. I engage the blades to mow fine. Went to mow.... Stall out, Stop, fine, go, stall.... stop, fine..... Problem...... Clogged primary fuel filter. Changed filter. Problem gone.

You need to understand, at full throttle with no load, its not using any where near maximum power, there fore not much fuel. Then when you put a load on it, its starts using fuel and the problem shows up. Mine was doing the same thing you describe and it was the filters. I'm not saying it couldn't be a saftey switch, but when I had that problem, it wouldn't start, or you couldn't get off the machine with it running. Also the fuel filters are easy and cheap to replace.

Well- it could be the safety switch- its easy to check by jumpering it out. Not sure on the 23 but the 24 has 2 switches. what you mentioned is 2 switches. This is the easiest thing to check- next to the feul filter. If jumpering the switch doesnt work, then just replace the feul filter, at the worse thing, you have spares for winter gelling if you ever run into that problem.

Thank-you for the feedback fellow Kubota owners. Sounds like a switch or fuel filter issue.
Does anyone know what the switch with the white , thin, plastic toggle is for?
Also, the plastic toggle switch on my switch moves very freely and doesn't seem to have a function.

If it was the switch it would die no matter how fast you would go as soon as you took the brake off it would kill the engine.I would say fuel because there is no problem until you labor the engine but i still would like to see how this turns out.The tractor is meant to run with the seat up with brake on to use the rear pto.Hope you can get this solved quick
