My BX24 seems to keep breaking loader pins, I just had to order my 2nd pin from the dealer. Im talking about the pin on the bucket that goes to the loader arms (Not the hyd cylinder mount). It breaks right in the middle where they have made a groove for the grease to go around the pin.

I wasnt ramming into stumps or anything just loading up a pile of snow and dumping it in the bed of the dump truck to haul out of a parking lot.

Anyone have this issue? Im thinking of having a buddy machine a couple of pins and have them heat treated.

Thanks
Ian C

Not speaking specifically to a BX24, but generally loader pin problems are directly related to either chronic and severe lack of grease or severe shock loading, in that order. Hardened pins may be just as prone to breaking as non-hardened pins, perhaps more so. And hardened pins will cause the loader boom bores to wear faster than non-hardened pins; especially when underlubricated.

I would trade it in for a JD!

I grease it quite often, the OD on the boom is good and tight with the pin, Only shock I can think of is when dumping the bucket and it hits the "stops" which causes the bucket to shake somewhat violently.

we replaced a POS JD with the BX24, Nothing but Kubota now (well a couple collector items but they arnt used daily)

L39 is next!

Something is putting undue stress on that loader pin, and that's for sure. I used the loader on my BX22 pretty hard, and never had an issue. So, the thing to do is to step back, look at it, and try to see "what is different". Are the loader arms straight, does one side of the bucket sit ahead of the other, is the hydraulic cylinder mounted correctly to the bucket ( a missmount here could cause a camming action that would increase forces on the pins)? Break this down to the basics of what is happening when you operate the bucket, and look for simple things that are easily overlooked. Over 90% of the difficult troubleshooting that I did in manufacturing turned out to be something simple, and basic, and I'll bet your problem is too.

Then why are you posting this question in the JD forum:confused:

What the heck would a Kubota owner who thinks Deere is junk post problems with his machine on the Deere forum ? I think he bought one too many Dodges. Sounds like an Orange problem to me. Maybe the Kubota owners never experience failures and wouldn't have an answer.
I looked at Orange when buying and it sent me to the Deere dealer quickly. Just my 2 cents. Like they say, a lid for every pot.

Did you buy your replacement pin at the orange dealer, or are you asking for a green pin to help your problem? JC
