Watch Craigslist and E-bay for used BX24. Call and ask if they will sell the deck separately. I got mine for $950 off a used BX24 with 50 hours on it. It will take some time for one to show up with a deck, but it worked for me.

Maybe someone here with a BX22/BX2200 could give you some measurements, like the distance between the rear lifting points on their decks and drive shaft length when hooked up. The front hangers are adjustable by a few inches in and out so those "should" fit. Just trying to suggest another way to skin the cat, so to speak.

Don't sound too bad although I only paid $1300 for my new 60'' mmm for my 2004 BX23 .

I had the same question as the original poster about the compatibility and after doing some research I found that the mowing decks from the BX22 and BX 23 are not compatible with the BX24

do you recall specifically what wont work and why they are not compatible? I can do some cutting and welding, but if there are major mechanical differences then we have a problem. I heard that the bx24 is about 4inches wider than previous models and thus the mounts on the mower deck "may" need to be moved, that wouldnt be soo bad. I am looking for specific sifferences in order to determine if one deck can be "made to work"

I don't have any measurements for you but heres a couple pics of my at the time, brand new BX23 60" MMM.
IF someone has similar pics of the newer BX24 60" MMM you should be able to at least see the differences.

PS, I was experimenting w/a mulch plug and it didn't work out very well.....
