Has anyone mounted a toolbox to their BX24?? I only want to store a couple screw drivers, crescent wrench etc. to adjust top link or whatever.
If you have, how about a picture and where you got the box.

Thanks,
Dean

BXPanded sells exactly what you are looking for. It's a bag that mounts to the back of your seat. BXpanded.com

I know its worthless without pictures but I'll try to explain and get a photo or two. I took a 3" x 12" long piece of PVC with an end cap on one side and a female adapter on the other. I used two electrical cowboy clamps (mineralacs or Mae West's) attached to two 1/4" beam clamps and attached it to the non-moving left upright for the FEL just above your left foot and on the inboard side. Drill a drain hole in the bottom and thread a plug into the female adapter on the top. Unscrew the top and drop in your tools, clips, gloves, etc. I would have used 4" had the 3" not been laying around. So far so good, and since I dont plan on removing the FEL it should be there for some time to come.

Try using PVC with endcaps. I was able to add it to the FEL. If you look on the FEL upright arms, you will see a hole already predrilled there. I just drilled a same size hole through the bottom endcap and pvc pipe. Just add top endcap to keep the rain out and tools inside from the bumpy rides.:p I thought it was pretty nifty for toolbox on BX. I probably will end up painting it orange this winter to match. The only downside to this tool box is that its mounted on the FEL and it won't do you any good if you removed FEL and need the tools. At this point the BXpanded bag is looking good, but i dont like bags. I prefer somthing solid.:)

Thank you everyone who responded. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now I have a few great ideas to look at. One of these will work for me. Some ideas I did not even think of, like removing the handle and I did not even notice the arm rest bolt holes!!

After you decide which way you go, please post your own pics to show us what you did and what revisions you made if any. Just like one TBN member said, After you do things one way , there is always another way.:D

FWIW: This won't work on my BX24 as the handle is molded to the cover for the PTO controls ..... it's all one piece.

He is right. Both sides of handle is molded into the slot levers. either the slot lever cover and handle needs to be removed completely or cut it off. Yuck I am not touchng my bota that way .;)

Yeah, I noticed that last night! I am not going to cut my handle either!. I am looking at either the bag on the bac of the seat, the box on the back of the seat, or the PVC on the front loader.

Dean,
Here's you another look at a pvc version. I copied radioman's example ... just right for a few hand tools or a couple rows of toilet paper :D

FYI: If you go the pvc route, use the thin wall (sewer pipe) ... the end caps are about 3 times cheaper that the thick wall (schedule 40).
