I forgot to mention, a couple guys ask'd "why". I forgot I want to be able to
use a winch as well. That puppie will kill this little electrical system quickly.
I "think" remember I am horrible at electrical stuff, that if I beef things up
I will get longer use out of a winch.

OK, in post 17 I suggested Keller's site may be wrong, I called and asked and
pleasantly Brad called others and got right back to me advising me indeed the
3A011-74013 is a 60AMP Alt.

Remember the challenge tis to find a plugNplay higher output alternator.
Not take apart mine or change brackets and and and... BX25 owners
forever will reap the rewards if this is doable and w/o problems and hoops
to jump thru.

PS, KennyV, I am posting a lot of my finding in hopes it will help others.
Just maybe someone will hit upon something from my hard work.
I happen to enjoy a challenge. This is w/o a doubt "hard", espically
for an Electricaly HandiCapped Plumber!

I think the alternator you found in post 18 has a great chance of being plug and play , we just need to see the plug, you already know the front case is the same part #.

Ray, Thanx for the input. Seems like I run to this board too much for solutions,
I dunno if that is good or bad. The useless comments from the peanut gallery
really blow, why do they bother? Anyways, if this is thinking outside the box,
I fired off a RFI to DENSOGLOABAL. Who knows, maybe they will reply w/
many choices w/ part numbers. Here is what I penned to them;
Sirs,
We seek a solution from DENSO!
Currently our project has a DENSO Alternator.
We need more output from a unit with the same frame,
and hopefully same 3 wire plug configuration.
We have a large format picture of your product at this link,
this is what we have;

THE PIC IS ALREADY IN THIS THREAD

Can you Please, recommend part numbers for all higher output
alternators that will be a bolt-in, plug and play replacement
or with little plug modification?
THANK YOU!

I am not sure what to tell you -- all
I can say is that a 12k winch uses roughly 3k watts. I dont know of any alternator that will handle that as the battery will always be the buffer. I like your thinking that swapping the alternator is the smallest space upgrade you can do over adding a secondary battery that charges only when tractor is running, but a massive rewiring changes will be made to make the lights, winch, boombox amp, etc to run off that secondary battery with a backup switch to primary. If I know I will be doing this extensively daily, I would take this project on but right now, its not something I want to mess with.

So going back to alternator swapout - just looking at the pics appears it might work, but innards looks much more beefy with the electrical rectifier changes too. I'd visit your local dealer and take a peek at the current models outside.

So I have all notes in one thread, and I think a gent said #6 prior....

notforhire said; " I think the only wiring you would need to change would be the output lead from the alternator to the battery."

If I hang on a winch from time to time I see I need a bigger battery.

I have BX25 Battery notes HERE

I know nothing about B size tractors.
I don't know if this may be of some help. Looking at the L3540 specs, if you get a cab model, the alt. size goes from a 40A to a 60A.
I was wondering if the same is true of the B size. Is there a B cab tractor that uses the same engine configuration?
If you go to a second battery you could install a diode set, like ones used in boats with start and house batteries. This stops flow between batteries, but allows one alternator to charge both.

Bill once agin I say Thank you for your input. Indeed should I
go w/ two batteries there will be another learning curve to hurdle.
Sure would be nice to find a monster battery to fit inside my
space, 7' x 9" x 9" is what I have and I need a 650CCA minimum
battery.

The info I just got says the 60Amp Alt in post 18 is a different plug...sigh.
