I'm surprised a pro like you got your tractor stuck.

One moment looking away while grabbing another beer an boom....could happen to anyone.

I needed something to wash down the oxy and hydro.....but you should be shocked....some are surprised by the smallest little things.

Don't forget while taking pain pills....if you are going to do it....do it right baby.

Actually what really happened is I was scooping outside the ditch, the front wheels went in a little further and my butt came off the seat....tractor stopped....safety switch. When it stopped it just rolled right into the hole....nothing I could do about it....I was twisted around backward to keep from hitting a tree, and could not get to the brake. Eh happens.

I am just amazed that a little mis fortune brings such joy to some people, disagree with someone about something and they take joy at bad things.....hay going to find out if I have cancer today that should make you really happy.

Apparently he didnt see my post #20 above.
Thats a CUT not SCUT. Whered all that loose dirt come from? We dont have any of that here.

I think it could easily be argued that a Kioti CK20, a 20 hp tractor is a SCUT. My Cub cadet lawn tractor has a 22hp Kohler and it's definitely not a CUT :)

Horsepower does not have anything to with if it is a SCUT or not. It is the size of the machine.

The ck20 is 48 inches wide, has a 50 inch bucket and overall is very small. It meets my idea of a scut is.

As some others said, you need to evaluate the spring first of all. Is it a true spring, high ground water, water trapped above ledge rock, or ??? That's what you need to know first.

Pics would help, but if the lay of the land is fairly flat, you could dig out a small frog pond about 20-30 feet away from the wet spot. Just pile the dirt up because you may be filling the hole back in eventually. Have an idea for where an overflow outlet could be and where that water would go. Then dig a small trench from the wet area to your hole.

If the spring continually supplies water to the small pond, enough that it overflows, and does that for most of an average year, then you have some water to work with and an idea of how much. It doesn't take a lot of water to keep a small pond full. Chances are you will get some ground water too.
