They Were Framed!

That's what I'm calling this mod. This one took from start to finish 5 hours but it was well worth it. Gee. If you passed gas walking by those rear lights I think they would break so imagine if your next to a tree and a branch struck one. Well I'm not saying it still won't happen BUT it will be a lot harder to do. Fabricated out of 2' X 1/8th flat bar. My two goals in this mod was to make the rear lights stronger while attempting to make the mod look like it's always been there. Not sure if I succeeded. Here's how they turned out.
Hope you guys aren't getting to bored with this stuff :(

Bored , please. This is the first thing I check out every morning to check for updates. Keeps the pics coming, love it!

I like the amber light protection! How did you bend the flat stock so neatly? I would like to make one just like it.

Any plans to make taillight protection for the red ones on the tractor? reason I asked is that I just broke mine this morning.:mur: I took the BH off and was in process of putting the QH back on. QH fell forward and cracked the lens.:hissyfit:

I figure a little more than a week to complete this little beast then I'm retiring from modding tractors. It's time to move on to other interests :)

NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can you do that to us. Is is something we said, something we did, should have done. Please stay, don't go...

Very Impressive!

How many days will you just sit and stare at it with a beer, before getting it dirty?

I think I figured out the next news your going to spring on us, your selling the L and going to use the BX from now on. Am I right? It might be a little chilly in the winter but you'll manage.

No sir. It will never happen unless I trade a 129 hour 5740 in on a 6060 and don't hold your breath on that happening.

Never had any plans on making a tail light guard BUT I'll look into the possibility of it. Sorry to hear about your lens. Hate it when that stuff happens. As for how I bent the metal. I have many benders here that can do some weird bends with. I didn't snap any photo's of the procedure because I was trying to steal a few "ME" hours in the shop and time was very limited plus I didn't think there would be much interest in the thing. Glad you liked them though. I didn't get at the BX today at all. To many trying to get in the shop so I had to tend to shop work (boring :ashamed:) but it pays the bills

Thanks Ken but when this one is done, I'm done. No man. The members on here have been very supportive of my work and I've enjoyed showing some of it. :)

There's only two ways I'll post more mods.
#1. If I get another tractor. (Not going to happen with two new ones here now)
#2. If a manufacture gives me a tractor to do on their behalf to mod out ( another unlikely possibility)

Very Impressive!

Thank you! Well I'm not much of a drinker but I'll have just one before it goes to work ;)

I've always enjoyed watching shows on TV where they show craftsman at work be it on homes, cars, art, what ever. I enjoy seeing your work because its something I can relate to on my tractor.

I'm much the same way. I think we all have a lot in common. If you like tractors then you like to tinker and build and even look at other tractors. I think you might enjoy my next mod. It will start tomorrow and its NEVER been done on a BX before. A few local were in the shop today asking about it but I only told one of my friends what its going to be. He said " that's going to be very cool"

How's that for a teaser Dave?
Thanks so much for all the encouragement my friend. :cool2:
