well i got a little done today went & picked up 2 sheets of steel 16-gauge 4'X8' to skin the cab. i got a little side tracked when a customer came in & needed a snow plow built for a 100 ton rock truck. i couldnt say no he said he would help me,so an our later we had it done & it works great the customer was very happy. now i did get the one side window skinned still need to cut the opening for the window. does anyone know if there is a minimum radius for rounded corners for glass.i would like to round the corners so the gasket is all one piece with one seam where the two ends will meet.

Glad to see that your back at it, its really starting to take shape with
the skinning of the cab. I don't know about the minimum radius for
rounded corners for the glass. how thick of a gauge of metal are you
going to use for the top? I haven't bought any metal yet for mine, i
have been measuring for metal and still doing a lot of thinking about
it before i start.

From the looks of the pictures your customer was happy with his
100 ton rock truck with a custom snow blade, and he was doing a great job too. I could not see his face but i say he had a great big smile. :D

Great job and keep us all posted.

Looks great Dirtnut! I would think 18ga - 16ga would be more than adequate for the roof, especially if you put some light weight bracing (1/2" square tube) on the underside to contain the vibrations.

I think 1/8" is overkill and will add to the overall weight in a negative manner with a higher center of gravity.

Keep the picture coming!

It all depends on the wiper motor and its mounting bosses.

Now its really starting to look like a cab, looks like you will have good visibility from the inside. I like the picture showing the door that will have two windows, rather than one big piece of glass.

mjncad is right, I think that jc Whitney sells some compact wiper
motors that has an on and off switch right on the motor.

You probably could do a search on the web to see want different sizes is out there.

Glad to see the pictures and great job.

finished the bottom window on the door today. decided it needed to go back on the tractor to fit and finish sheet metal and decide if i want the wiper at top or bottom of window it will go to the bottom. it wont obstruct my view there it will on top when using loader up high. i think when i skin the front i will weld what i can. then i will drill and tap holes 1/4" in the cab frame to bolt seperate panels on that can be very fine tuned to the contours of the tractor housing, will do this with the floor panels to this will also give easy access to the tractor if problems pop up. now i need to find 2 wiper motors front & back. i would like to use kioti wiper motors but cant find any info on them.
