Has anyone in the group built one of the CADPlans loaders, specifically the Mod. 1207.
Since I don't have *quite* enough pain in my life, I'm considering building one of these for myself. I figure if it doesn't work out, I'll have plenty of scrap metal to add to the pile and I can always buy an third party of manufacturer model.

Thanks!

I'm going to order them tonight for the 907 (I think that was the number) for my new 224. Will let you know how they are when I get them.

Hi RWB,
I just ordered a 1007 loader plan kit on Saturday from CADplans for my new JM224. I am going to buy the hydraulic kit from Metkit as there have been some threads on this site that said that fitting other cylinders can be difficult sometimes, just search thru the archives and you will find valuable info regarding loaders, backhoes, etc . The metal components I either have or will buy locally. Is your 224 a Jinma? If it is there are also other great sites as well as this one that have valuable info. If you need the site addresses just e-mail me............. Regards, Harry G

I never built a front loader but I did built a Caddigger backhoe a few years ago.
I've used it for 3 or 4 years now and it actually works quite well. Has suprisingly good digging power.
I recently got a backhoe for my tractor so it doesn't get used much any more.

I built the 1207 for my Yanmar FX24D. I agree with the MetKit hydraulics. It might have been my post that he was referencing. I am considering moving the bucket closer to the tractor by shortening the arms. If you are considering digging with the loader build a tooth bar. Weight box and power steering make it much easier to use. Loader is plenty strong. Reinforce the main bearing carriers (where the arms attach to the tractor mounts) and the arms around them to save some potential breakage.

Hi Harry,
yes it is a 224 Jinma. I think now that I have looked it over again I will also go to the 1007 loader. Can't wait for it to get here.

I used Metkit for my hydraulic system.
They were nice to work with, parts came quickly, all the fittings needed were there and all hoses were made the correct lentghs to get up and running.

Thanks for the replies!
It's nice to know that the attachments work well. Anyone able to post pictures?

Go to the machine builders forum. This is a relatively new site but there is good build info in the discussion forums. Pictures too!

Hi,

I built a cadloader for my Yanmar (model 907 I think). I love it, building it was a blast and it is surprisingly useful, on such a small machine.

The plans were excellent! I got the hydraulics from MetKit, and obtained steel locally.

A photo is attached.

That looks GREAT!
I'm jealous! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I was thinking of ordering the plans and building a loader for my TN65. I might have to scale the plans up a bit.

I think building it yourself even from plans gives one a sense of accomplishment and a very good working knowledge of the unit. I will post a picture of mine when I complete it(hopefully soon). I hope I don't get into my "mad scientist" mode and deviate from the plans too much but I know I probobly will deviate at least at a little. Good luck on your projects and please post a pic when your done too. To those that have already built theirs, thanks for the input and if you have any ideas on what areas to "deviate" on please give us your input.
Thanks, Harry G

Harry,

The only place I deviated was to design a new bucket. The plans called for a larger bucket, made with flat stock I had access to a roller, so I rolled the back ans downsized some. The smaller bucket is better suited to my tractor.

Attached is a photo of the bucket built from the plans.

Harry,
I misspoke /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif it is a Nortrac 204. I thought when they upgrade to 3cyl it made it a 224. My mistake but it is on it's way. Can't wait. Making shed bigger right now to have it fit. Going to look at plow on sundayand put a subframe under it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and buy plans later to build loader thru the winter.

Mrbule, Nice job on your loader. I hope mine comes out as well.
Hi RWB, the 204 is a nice size machine. I'm sure you know you will have at least 20 HP or maybe a little more as the Chinese rate there units on a 12 hour test and not the 1 hour test we do. You will probobly have the equivilant of a 21 0r 22 hp. My 224 has all sorts of power actually more than I need. I was breaking it in as they suggest by pulling against an immovable object and break in the gears by "digging" the tires. Well, I found a 10" damaged Maple that I was going to take down anyway. Well I chained to it and thought something was wrong as the tires started dancing when I reliazed I was uprooting the tree. I pulled it the rest of the way down with a longer chain and dragged it away. Good move with getting the tractor first and then enlarging the shed/garage. Golden Rule-get the main toy first then make necessary adjustments. Wives just don't understand this. Good luck with your 204 and send me a pic when you get it.
I was in your neighborhood on 9/10 inspecting buses. Nice country area. I think we are going to have a rough winter so get the plows and loaders ready.
Regards, Harry g

I hear ya on the snow. Looking at a 6 1/2' plow tomorrow. I'm adding length to my shed also. So far the wife isn't complaining. I think she knows me too well. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif LOL Will do on the pic. Nice color that blue is.
