I paid $210 for 195 gallon of WWF. I'm also VERY happy. :)

Now THAT is a VERY GOOD DEAL!!...... 93 cents per gal.
I think I should drive down your way to get some more.
1400+ miles .....only about 25 hours.

24 gallons per tire ?
Are those skinny Ags ?
I put a bit more than twice that into 17.5L 24 R4s
Not to get into the R1 vs R4 issue again, but I think my (factory spec) options were 35 gallons per tire for R1s and 50 per tire for R4s.
So more weight on a wider footprint, with less lugs - depends what you're doing and where.

Yes 11.2-24 AG, I like em ok for woods work and the ability to put on studded ice chains without fender interference, but on front for loader work wish I had R4, trouble is can't mix and match, I consider that a design flaw in tractor tire size enginering.

Yes and since you're going there get a couple gal for me to, then drop em off at my house on your way home and I'll give you a bottle of Moxie.

I guess I don't understand the chain clearance issue, assuming that you can do the usual rim and wheel center flips & swaps to adjust spacing.
The only problem chains create for me on 17.L24s is trailering, they would foul the fenders - and I'm NOT going to a bed over trailer JUST to solve that.

The ONLY reason for not being able to mix and match MIGHT be running in 4WD on high traction surfaces.
Which begs the questions;
a) Why would you DO that ?
b) Why would it MATTER if your axles/diffs/transfer case/ aren't fragile ? (other than a lot of tire scuff due to skipping).
BTW, rolling circumferences might not be all that different between R1 and R4 and in any case there is a few percent front lead BY DESIGN.

Given that R1s just don't have the load rating for FEL work.
I'd go with the mix and accept whatever shortcomings occur, almost anything beats a front tire failure with a full bucket, that is likely to be very SUDDEN :D

Bought in 65 gallon barrels thru the local Auto Dealer Parts Department.

I tried my local auto parts dealer (bulk purchase), but WAY too expensive.
Bought from Home Depot in individual gallons (80 of 'em).
Seems like bulk should have been much cheaper, but auto parts store would not deal!

Next time I stop at Bryant Stoves in Thorndike, maybe I'll bring you some.

I worked for them for a year back in 81, owner was a smart guy, I use to do sand blasting for them, the best sand blast set up I've seen, sit on other side of wall, look through a window and ran a knuckle boom blaster by hydraulic controls. They had a fab shop made highway sanders for dumptrucks. Now they only deal with wood stove repair, sales of antique wood stoves and wood burning acc.

[/B]"I just called the local tractor place to get some Idea of cost vs. headache, the service said sure bring the tires down we'll change it to Rimguard, the cost will be in the neighborhood of $250.00 for both tires plus new tubes, said the weight was 11 lbs./gal. and will take around 24 gal/tire, so it sounds to me like I can get both tire done for around $350.00 and if the rims are still good after almost three years, that CaCl headache will be gone. Ask him if I still needed tubes, he said it's a good idea because he said Rimguard is like a lubricant and some of his customers have complained about tire's slipping on the wheels, well we cant have slipping wheels, so tubes it is, so the target date is May 5th"<<<<<We'll that was 3/14/17, I didn't think May would get here so quick, my son wanted to use tractor today, went to get on it, Hssssssssssssssssssssssss, sends me a text at my work 9:25 am, I'm just getting ready to go to break, relax for a few, sip some coffee, that put the brake on my break. Replied back saying back the tractor in the garage, get the chains off, get tires off, I call the (Friendly Folks) where I bought the Kubota, it's 15 mi. away, the tire guy is sick and may be out next week to, call back Thursday for update, ok I said. So what to do now as I start pushing the panic button, recalling all the harry scary stories of the rim killer calcium here on TBN.

I call the John Deere place cross the street see what their schedule is, they said bring them down, we can have them fixed tomorrow or the next day, I asked do you have Rimguard? no we have Ballast Star, what's that I ask, he said it's like Rimguard and or just as good, first I heard of the stuff. I said I'll try it since you can get these fixed in a couple days. My son loaded tire on his truck, picked me up on the way home from work and we skipped them over there, they ask, can you unload them or are they heavy, I said at 11.2-24 there on the heavy side, he took them off with forklift, so there they are and now we wait, anticipating the cost of this never heard of before Ballast Star from a high-end John Deere place.
