It seems pretty clear that Deere knows there's a problem since they redesigned the 3PH on the new 2720.

I found the only way to get my mower and blade on was to turn the pins on the implement around

from:

-| |-

to:

|- -|

to reduce the width. Otherwise I couldn't get the arms wide enough.

Hi All,

Update: My dealer has informed me that Deere is covering the replacement lift arms as a warranty item. Thanks for your help, I think we made a difference.

If you haven't called, please do. That may save other people, or you the hassle.

Tom

I'm not sure what kind of communication exists within JD but here's my recent experience. I called the 800 number and filed a complaint. The nice lady I talked to was very familiar with the problem. She said she's taken a lot of calls on this already. Way to go guys! I also just talked to my dealer who has been working the problem with his factory rep. Neither one of them know anything about it other than they've seen the DTAC. It doesn't seem to matter what I tell him in terms of what JD has done for others. Until they see an official "replacement program" document published by JD they can't do a thing. Does anyone know if there is a document from JD that I can refer my dealer to that will tell him that JD has officially decided to cover this under warranty? If one dealer is doing it there must be something in writing. Thanks for all your help already. This is going to save me $600 before I'm done here. I owe you each a cut.

Hey Tomd999, can you provide your dealer name and phone number? Perhaps he can tell me what JD authority he used to cover yours under warranty. That would really help.

 I just called the 800 number...was told that my issue with the lift arms would be documented as a customer complaint with JD. The lady told me to contact my dealer and explain the problem to them....I was left with the impression that JD as a corporation is not going to stand behind their product with a mass recall/replacement for this obvious design flaw. Instead, nag your dealer to the point he may absorb the cost or offer you a discount for the replacement arms just to get rid of you.

...that JD green just doesn't look as green as it did before I made the call:mad:

Just bumping this to the top. For no good reason at all, I'd been hesitant to call and file a complaint until I started to see some paint rub off due to this issue. After a few hours of boxblading this weekend, the tires rubbed through the paint on the lift arms so now I feel like I can officially complain! :D So, I just called and did my part by filing a customer complaint. Let's keep it up until they voluntarily fix this problem!

I've heard nothing from my dealer yet. It appears that JD complaint resolution is a slow process. I'm getting worried. Next time I talk to the dealer I'm going to check on the price for the new arms. I can't believe they cost $600 like some have said.

I haven't heard anything back either. My dealer looked up the price and said they were $297 a piece.

Birdmayon watch your tire wear. I have R4's and the inside corner of all the lugs are torn up from rubbing the 3PH arms.

FYI to all that have the 46 backhoe on their 2520 check your front tires for contact with the backhoe subframe bracket. Checked mine this weekend and the front tires are more torn up than the rear tires. I checked in the parts catalog and again JD has a new part number for the subframe bracket. I called the dealer on this one and had him add it to the DTECH I already had open for the 3PH. I am not pleased about this, even if JD replaces the 3PH arms and the subframe brackets I am still stuck with 4 torn up tires.

Just called- hopefully it helps. My wheels are in the wide position and it still rubs alot.

You guys mean that the R4s in back rub the rear 3pt hitch arms when an attachment is hooked up? Havnt the 2520s been out for a few years now?
