I see there are currently a few different threads going on this subject. Looks like a couple of weeks since anyone posted. Any new developments out there, like maybe JD decided to fix this right (maybe new 3PT arms for everyone)? Anyway, my local service manager says he will do his best to get the issue fixed for me. He gave me a recent version of the 73813 Tech Bulletin (June 17, 2008). It has this text at the bottom now:
"Additional Information:
The 2520 draft arms were designed around using standard category 1 implement. If using a standard cat 1 implement, you should not have interference of the draft arms. If the implement is wider than standard cat 1 implement, installing the 2720 draft arms (LVA803085) will provide more draft arm clearance."
So what is the measurement range for standard cat 1 implement end width? I've probably seen some numbers before but anybody know the "official" numbers? I know this is really BS because folks are having problems with Deere/Frontier attachments as well as other brands. Just for grins I measured my 4 attachments and they range from 23" to 30" with all having some wiggle room within that range.
Also, my rear R4 wheel valve stems are pointed out, so does this have them in the wide setting already? Dealer says yes, but I would like to be certain. I have two 60lb weights on each wheel so i'm not going to swap them unless I'm certain it might help a little (and I know you only gain about 1/2" clearance from narrow to wide on the 2520).
Of course everything else checks out OK on the original 3pt arms installed properly so I'm going to call the dealer again tomorrow and ask what he can do next to get me a pair of the 2720 arms. Looks like at least a couple of you have them already.
