Thanks for the reply bz1, the two implements that I have is a MF plow and a JD back blade. Same problem, the pins cannot be moved to the inside. Both of these will fit my Ford 8N and Ford 1300.

Hemiguy, I too have the 46 backhoe that is tearing up the front tires. If you look in the parts catalog they have two 2520 mounting frames. A 4115 LATE VERSION/2520 EARLY VERSION and a 2520 LATE VERSION. The two have different subframes/mounts. I have the 2520 EARLY VERSION. When I turn the wheels all the way to the left or right the tires hit the subframe mounting bracket (even on level ground/in the garage). It´s chewing off about 1" of the outside edge of the lugs (R4s). I had my dealer file a DTEC 2 weeks ago and JD answer was smaller tires. The 2520 comes with 23 - 8.5x12 and they want to put 23 - 5.7x12. I measured the tread width on the 8.5x12 and it measures approx 7" and the 5.7x12 measures approx 4"? I told the dealer that I did not think that was the proper fix. I am waiting for a phone call back from a JD Supervisor.

As for hooking the backhoe up, I have found that if you extend the boom out straight and parallel with the ground, when you raise or lower the backhoe with the support arms the backhoe will move up and down evenly and is balanced. This will help with the tire clearance and putting the pins in the subframe mounts.

A little off subject. I have less than 10 hours on my new 2520 and I can't see either the oil level or "bubble" in the sight glass. What I see looks like a verticel reddish colored disk. I added some oil (1 gallon) and still see no liquid. Could it have been that low fromt he dealer? Am I missing something?

Your thoughts.

AKK, if it's red colored then I think you are looking right at the hydro fluid. It must be over filled and you just can't see the top of the oil. With my machine I can just barely see the top of the oil level. The oil is red and behind the oil is silver colored metal that will look red if you are looking through the fluid. I would start slowly draining fluid out until you see the top of the oil show in the sight window.

You are looking at hydraulic oil,, check the level right after you start the engine with it running and you should see what it looks like with no oil in the sight glass.
