A brisk 5 degrees overnight and a predicted high of 11 today. We will try cutting a new path so as to get whatever machine from the trailer to the trail. The plow guys snow storage is getting in the way.. All the things ya learn the 1st year doing this and that! Hope everyone's new year is the very best!

We just got back to camp and did cut and filled in a new route out of the parking lot for the atv. We seemed to have went over rocks n logs but we'll not see until spring. Also cleared a few "pull downs" on the way back. There's now enough snow in the woods that dragging slash into the woods is quite a struggle.

Dearest is skiing her way out now since she's working on Friday so me and mutts are now officially bachelor's at camp. this afternoon we cleaned the trail cam off, but didn't see sny exciting tracks here anyway. And on the critter subject, seems we've had a weasel cleaning out her bird feeder so we'll be given up on that for the time being. Also cleared the roof and yard snow was shuffled around some. Was a good and productive day at camp.

Got a few things done today but emphasis, on few. Dearest is skiing her way out now. I did roll the trail to the parking lot with 50lbs on the roller pan to try smooth it up some. Cut open another trail at the cabin and I'll post photos of both when home. Ran out of adult dog food but she brought more. Nice day here with it getting up to 16 and snow flurries. Even seen the sun for a few minutes.

Just got home folks and when we got to town (Houghton) it started snowing like crazy. Drive from camp was near dry but, many other adventures occurred down there. Need to post later!

Enjoy it while you can Arly. Dealing with that much snow is tough work and not for old men like me.

The most I have ever had to handle was 18-20 inches and that was about 8 years ago while I was still in my late 60's. I have the equipment to handle it now - bought the LS 4140 6 1/2 years ago.

But I have it easy compared to you. You will get hammered every year and more than once a year. I would not want to deal with that much of challenge.

There are a couple of families around us that have retreats in the UP and they have stopped going up in the winter.
