I moved some new 5 foot evergreens this evening from the pickup truck that I purchased from the nursery today and it seems I can hear more tractor hydro/metalic working sounds from behind the tractor when moving.

Can the new clean fluid, which is not as thick as the 50 hour fluid contribute to this? I used today about 2/3's of a 5 gal bucket of Kubota hydro fuid supplied by the dealer when I bought the tractor. I checked the fluid level and all is fine there. Just wondering.

Tractor also comes to a very fast stop when taking my foot off the peddle. Before it came to glide stop.

Any thoughts. The only thing different is I don't have the BH attached.

Jim,

Is there a chance you perhaps used a different hydraulic fluid? For example, UDT in place of SUDT, or the other way around?

If so perhaps there could be a difference. I would put more faith in the observation of the way the tractor stops when the foot is lifted off the HST pedal than in the percieved sound difference. I only say that because sometimes I notice that my van runs better after an oil change, when I certainly know this is not the case.

And after reading your other thread on the ball, spring, bolt, question...I would bet in the back of your mind you still feel a bit concerned...and that could affect your perception of the sound.

Anyway...I don't know... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I figure the "gliding to a stop" difference could simply be the extra weight of the BH pushing the tractor. My B6100 stops quite abruptly with nothing attached. Like, lock the back wheels abrupt if there is any speed there.

Just my 2¢. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi Henro

It did run thru my mind that my concern over the spring/ball/bolt problem was making me more sensitive to the tractor.

When I changed the engine oil and filter, I really sensed the engine was running smoother and the oil was surprising black after 50 hours.

Your post prompt me to check the type of fluid I put in today. It was Kubota Suoer UDT Universal Trans-Hydraulic Fluid.
KU40105. Knowing I would have to eventually do a 50 hour, I had the dealer drop off with the new tractor last October everything I would need for the 50 hour service.

My BX2230 has always done this, haven't gotten to the 50 hour mark yet. It stops faster in reverse than forward, but still quite abruptly.
