Can I run a Cat 2 mower on my Cat 1 tractor?

A couple of thoughts on this. Check first to make sure the mower is a new enough model to work with a mono-frame quick hitch. Also, last I knew, Harbor Freight only has a Cat 1 quick hitch. That'll work on the OP's tractor, but will probably be too narrow overall in width to match up with the Cat 2 mower unless he can reverse the pins of the mower so they point inward. If reversing the pins solves the width issue, it should work, as the HF quick hitches that are now being sold have hooks large enough to handle the Cat 2 pin diameter.

I am running a cat 2 sprayer on my cat1 kubota. As mentioned, you will need the adapter pins for the lift arms ( 1 1/8 threaded section, 7/8 pin) you will also need something to keep the cat1 top link pin from sliding out of the cat2 holes in the cutter. I used 3/4 flat washers at each end of the pin. Another alternative is getting a cat2 to cat1 top link bushing and cutting it in half to go through the cutter using a cat1 pin.

And tighten those pins good so they don't loosen with vibration. Lots of stress is located right at the pins. And tell your neighbor your plans of course!

So, I went in to the local industrial shop that deals with tractor supplies (according to every other shop in town that I tried). I explained to the guy what I wanted and he looked at me funny saying he'd never heard of such a thing before, but he'd get in touch with his dealer in Prince George BC. I heard back from him yesterday and he said they'd never heard of this before either.

So at this point, I've tried using the net to find these things to order online but I'm having no luck, not even with Princess Auto's webpage. Could anyone lend a hand and help me find a place to order these things online?
