Then big squares would be all of that and a bag of chip plus something cool to wash it down. :)

I seriously can't stand small squares but nothing is easier to feed, at least for us, come winter.

You got that right. :D At my other place where we used to live I used 1700lb squares. I had a neighbor who supplied my hay at the time and he would bring two at a time over on his flatbed truck with hydraulic dump and I had two wooden slides set up at the entrance of my barn.

He would dump em' and they would slide right in to the barn and I would have hay for a month with very little work involved on my part.A little different story now. But all in all I still need the small squares and until I get bigger equipment to move the bigger ones I will stay with it. The small squares are about the best way for me to go at this time anyway.

The cost of buying hay was eating us up so I really feel blessed to be producing our own hay now so to me all the hard work is worth saving thousands in hay expenses. There seems to always be a tradeoff in farming in one way or another if you know what I mean. Either work your butt off and pay less or work very little and pay out the butt !

A long list of words come to mind when i think of handling baled hay.

Fun doesn't generally appear on my list :(

Most of the words have a 4th letter involved ;)

Stackers and/or accumulators are all that!

Round balers are all that AND a bag of chips!

Haha! I guess we only baled hay twice a year and it was usually about 300-400 first cutting and 150-250 second cutting so it wasnt very much. I work in an office now and the thought of being out doing physical work like loading/stacking hay has some weird twisted appeal to me.
