Can one weld a Steel Hot Pressure Washer Coil?

I can't figure out why so many here repeatedly refer to....... "steam and pressure"
There is ABSOLUTELY no steam, or steam pressure associated with a hot water washer.

I had such thoughts before I really understood what the OP really had and what he was talking about. When he started referring to schd 80 pipe I ignored some previous info and zeroed in on the 2000 PSI he alluded (or I thought he did) that that was the pressure on the coil. Once I fully understood then I realized the coil was only under the pressure of the incoming water and the 2000 PSI was developed by a pump not the heat source. Sorry Industrial Toys.

Well my idea would be to braise the joint and pressure test joint afterwards.
For some reason I believe brazing is less stressful on many systems.

Another option is to lower the output pressure limit, like all U really need is steam (over 212 deg) INMHO overly high is simply overkill.

I'll add that I've thawed many a frozen water pipe line.
I used hot (boiling) water pushed by a pump and relieved via an automobile thermostat cap.
Unfrozen close to 100 water supply lines over the years.
My device was a copper pot that simply used a hot water kettle element and an automobile radiator cap as a safety release device,
Using a radiator cap I never exceeded dangerous pressures but the hot steam still was there to do the job.
LOL, been there done that.
But then I have some years as a DIY guy!

Sized up my room. Should be able to make room for it.

Removed and cleaned pump. Sitting on kitchen table (safe from Frost) as I try and figure out what does what. Removed a plug from the bottom and a spring was stuck in there and got twisted around. Some rust in there that will need to be cleaned out.

Pump looks small in pictures but I wouldn't want to carry it too far.

That pump looks like a fine piece of machinery.
The pump on my cheap POS is obviously from China, the others each have a... "General Pump".
Both are direct drive.

I wouldn't bother trying to repair the coil, once they rust out in one spot, another is just about ready to leak.

"Rust out" ????
How would you know that "rust" was the problem?
The OP lives in Ontario.
It does occasionally get a bit chilly there.

O.K. So now I am TOTALLY confused.

So, someone had removed the coil from the circuit and had a quck coupling mounted on the pump, for cold water use only.

BUT, there is a Temperature sensor going to the thermometer, mounted on the PUMP, suggesting that it reads HOT water temperature there. And yet I believe the pump goes into the coil and then out to the hose and wand. There are no extra ports where the hot water is looped back through a part of the pump assembly.

As far as the rust goes. I have a feeling this thing is that old, that it may have failed and sat in a corner for the last twenty years, until someone decided to get rid of it. That would explain the rust I see.

There is virtualy NOTHING about this machine (or the Old company) to be found on the Internet.

The ones that we have at work (the one that works and the ones that have failed) have the coil on the output side of the pump so the pump only sees cold water.
Any chance that what you are seeing is the pressure sensor (autoshutoff when you hit X PSI)?

There is a cold water input, that goes to the reservoir with a float valve, so that is not in despute. Goes to low pressure manifold of pump.

There is a microswitch on the output(?) of the pump that is used for trigger control of pump and heater. There is an accumulator there that facilitates that trigger operation, since you can't compress a liquid. There is also a safety valve there, that bleeds off water and pressure to a hose going to the ground. No doubt that the pump is before the coil. Maybe, someone moved that thermometer probe. Maybe it used to be on the output of the coil.
