Can someone recommend a good gas can for BX24

I've been using two of the spill proof plastic diesel cans, like the one in WaneB's link. The diesel tank filler is is at the highest point of the hood on my GL3240. So I have to lift the 5 gal over shoulder high :( But... the spill proof spout has a tab that actuates the flow. This tab hooks on the lip of the diesel tank opening and will support the full weight of the 5 gal. So once its up there, all I have to do is keep it steady till its empty. That's what the FEL arms are there for -- right :)

BTW I been putting about an average of 15 hours a week on my GL3240 since I got it in August. IOW I'm hefting 10 gals a week over shoulder high. OldSchool's Duramax 14 Gallon Fuel Caddy sure looks inviting. If it had a rotary pump I'd be in the truck on my way to Northern Tool :)

1*Is 5 Gallon too big to handle?

2*Does diesel go in a Yellow Cans?
== L B == says+: I like the Blitz vent free but not the spill free.
You can't pour into a funnel with the spill free type.
1*Pretty heavy and awkward if full.
I'd go 2 gallon cans or just put 3 or 4 gallon in the 5 Galloon Cans.
The Cans I like the best so far are the Kubota 10 QT. SUDT fluid containers.
You can get nearly 3 gallons in them and they are much easier to handle and pour from than a full 5 gallon can.
The ultimate method is to have fuel home delivered which I plan to go to before to long hopefully.

2*Yep

I went with the 5 gallon plastic jug with the spillproof spout. Under $20 at TSC. Remember to ask around for the best diesel in the area. I've heard complaints about some diesel statons so I ask truckers who is good. I was under the impression that Hess did most of the refining up here in the NY metro area, I guess some vendors either have dirty tanks or mess with the kerosene blend.

Have off road home delivered cost less no problem with freshness and best of all ends fiddlen and foolin with sloppy heavy messy cans..

It depends on where you store your fuel. If you store it in your garage in your home then the yellow metal can is the way to go. Because during a fire the can will not fail and spill the fuel also the lid will raise to relief the internal pressure to prevent the can from exploding.
1*If you store the can in a shed or a building away from your home
What I do is use a pump like this one to move the fuel to the tractor. I raise the seat up, put the can on top of the fuel tank, and use the pump to transfer the fuel, nice and easy on the back. By the way I would NEVER use this type of a pump with gasoline. The battery/motor is a source of ignition, results in a large bang, followed by a large flame ball, and a very bad day.:D Wally world has then for about $10 or so.
2*Liquid Transfer Pump - Battery Operated Liquid Transfer Gas Water Siphon Pump
1* That's the only good place to store flamables.
I just got back from LOWES.
2*Looked at one of these over there. To bad it won't work on a 30 gallon drum.

I think I may go with the 5 Gallon metal can and the little battery operated pump. I looked at both this weekend and plastic ones just didn't look that good/rugged.

They had a really cool set up with a tank on a dolly setup with a nice crank type pump (I think it must have been in the 25 gallon range). But I have not easy means to fill it. My wife also said don't even think about :(.
