Today I received my TimberJack Cant Hook by WoodChuckTool in NY.

This thing is built to last...I considered an old unit but glad I went anew... This thing is solid.

No, not a shill, never seen this company till last week. Good work, solid tool companies need to stay in business, I spread the word unsolicited.

Looks good, I was not aware of that company. I have two Logrite cant hooks, a 36" and a 60", that work great. Let us know how it does.

I live in a horrible area of the US called Los Angeles County. Raised in Mass. in the sticks till 12 then dragged to civilization learned me a trade and a home and a wife but I want to go "back" to 4 seasons and a place where you can leave your doors unlocked, clean air living before I die. I am working on it. Were accumulating tools and such while the money is able to be made here.

The Cant hook I bought from WoodChuck Co was bought after I decided on LogRite's tool, NICE stuff it is, THEN I found the Timberjack. If you look at it you will see it has TWO feet to roll the log up on, keeping the handle off the ground.

There were hurricane force winds here almost 2 weeks ago and I wanted that tool to go get me some wood but alas, every south of the border you know what and his 4 cousins have grabbed it all and it is for sale on every other corner in the back of a old truck, now. But today I found some bucked logs they can't handle!

I picked it up, the wood and were looking at a new splitter. I have been wanting one for a while, I have done a ton of research. One of the units I am leaning towards is made by Split Fire, it is looking mighty nice.

Look at this! NOTE: It splits in BOTH DIRECTIONS! Superb Worksmanship!

I found a [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ4LfUn4XZ0"]YOUTUBE VIDEO [/ame]for this unit as well, it is a MONSTER!

I really like the look of the cant hook you purchased. I agree with you on your plans to leave the "left" coast. I have been in the rural midwest all my life and I don't think I would be happy anywhere else. Good luck on your choice of splitters, lots of good ones out there. I bought a BRAVE 26 ton about 6 years ago and have been pleased. I think the Speeco's at Tractor Supply are good also.

I have the el cheapo TroyBil 27 ton new in 2009. Used a homebuilt since 87 till then. I have seen that splitter advertised but I really don't see the benefit on splitting both ways unless you have too people operating it. Splitting in one direction is enough to keep me hopping, no way could I gain by trying to keep both ends fed.
