Currently running a Caroni TL1500 (Rear Flail Mower) and need to replace the belts. Any thoughts on where to find them? I've located the part number on AgriSupply but can't get a cross reference to any of the belts they supply.

I found belts at NAPA that work for my Caroni. I think the belt size is B43. About $15 per belt.

I went through a lot of belts until I learned to tension correctly and stopped leveling off gopher mounds with the flail.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. Any advice you can give on tensioning would be appreciated. The manual is pretty cryptic.

If you determine your "profile" and length, I've had good service and prices from these folks.... V-Belt Global Supply, LLC - Shop VBeltSupply.com

Searching "Caroni" on their website shows only one, a B74K wrapped Kevlar, 5/8" width, 77" length.

I just put new belts on for the first time -- using the recommended Gates B43 size. I have a Caroni 1900 which I purchased 15 months ago. The old belts were generating a lot of extra noise and I could begin to smell the hot rubber. They were completely frayed. How do I know the propper tension for the new ones? The nut on the tensioner spring was tightened nearly all the way -- and I never messed with it, so it was the factory setting. Thanks!

Trial and error was how I figured it out. Tight enough to avoid slipping under normal cutting loads, but loose enough to protect the PTO if you hit a a gopher or woodchuck mound.

I will try and get a picture posted later today where my tensioning spring is set at.

I keep spare Gates belts on the shelf for all my belt run mowers and usually find the best prices on EBay.
I have both the largest Caroni flail and estate finishing mowers and use them constantly.
